Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good Morning:
(in a well modulated voice)
Will be in an out but need to get some pictures taken and get them developed.
What's with JH? Sounds like he needs to spend some quality time The Nine.

ya know, somehow I don't think that's the kind of fiber even Elrond needs.

good on yuh fer donatin' osage... I been givin' since I was 16... there were a few years there where I was disqualifies from donating, due to anti-malarial meds and the like... after I got my five gallon pin, I lost track...
this DVD thing seemed to sweep thru the Hole when the FOTR DVD came out last summer...
MDC should be out to spray this week... I'll have to stay on 'em...

Good morning g'nad!
I haven't donated blood now for a little while.... I don't hear about the drives so much when I am holed up in my compound all the time! They used to come to the office.
In college, it was popular for whole carloads to go down to the place where they buy blood on Fridays and sell it... Don't remember how much, but they would pay a few bucks for it, and the guys would use it for Friday night beer money. A beer dollar would go a little further, bein down a pint and all.....

"Steampunk", huh? I hadn't even realized the genre had a name. Since I'm a big fan of such period stuff as Sherlock Holmes and Patrick O'Brian's sea stories, I'll have to poke around some. Thanks for the lead! Nothing like realizing that there's a whole realm of story out there that one's been missing. Just when you think you've seen it all...
