The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Still at work, ya know.

Remember my friend, WORK is a 4 letter word!

LOL. Been carrying 3 spares in the bed of my pickup since that blowout I had on the way to Myranda's graduation. Well, since right after that. I put my spare there when I replaced the tire. Then a friend who's next door neighbor drives a wrecker towed and impounded a totalled mini-van with my wheels and tires on it. I got 'em now. And their tires were like new!!!

LOL, don't I know it! But then so is CASH, and you need one to get the other.

Yeah, FOOD is a 4 letter word too. And heh, most of us have to have CASH for FOOD.

Hello all I am home!

The family celebrated Ramius's birthday by giving him a new lawnmower and watching him mow with it! You just can't get a Hallmark card that says that!

Cool! Is it the sit-upon kind or the push kind?

Push kind! That yard isn't near big enough to justify a rider. But what it lacks in acreage, it makes up for in tenacity.... the grass there grows by the hour.

And I got the old one! - It is a fine mower, just couldn't take the job there.... It will however, do a fine job on the witch's circle.

Yeah, I know whay you mean. It's like that around here too. Kind of different for an AZ boy who only had to mow every couple weeks when he was growing up.

Time for me to head home now.

I picked it up when I was at the book store today..... but I was on a mission ;~D Should have just bought it.

I saw a gorgeous new edition of LoTR too that I really wanted to buy, but can't justify! It was a HM Print, paperpack 'onebook', black with a raised image of the Ring on the front....... and had the maps in foldouts right in the cover.... have you seen that? - Wanted to have it instead of the ones I have... but - I have three copies now!

No, I haven't seen that one yet. I'll have to check it out when I go to pick up Harry Potter 3. I've been thinking it would be nice to have a 1-volume copy in addition.

Seems like every few months FR has to have this big family 'talk' about what is wrong, what is right, and what are we gonna do about Uncle Fred....
