Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

No, but you're lucky you weren't run off.

I'm gonna R U N N O F T...
To: HairOfTheDog
Man, you are lucky you lived through it! For a goodly while, I was wishin' I hadn't...

Again?

I downloaded a script that dynamically creates the thumbnail index and popup, so to add to the gallery, I only have to upload the image - don't have to touch the HTML. Very easy. The only downside is that you can't add info to each individual image (like the location and such), but once (if) I finally get the site up, I will look for a more advanced script.

The 3rd generation have accents more Southern than mine. My sister adopted a baby from Korea. 'course he's 16 now and he sounds like everybody else in SW Virginia.

Try geese. They are big and usually ornery, especially the gander. I was thinkin' the same thing, but don't know enough about them. But aren't geese particularly messy (very productive in the poop department)?
'course it ain't horse poop...
To: ecurbh; HairOfTheDog
I'm just tryin' to figger out if you said any of that in English...

in which we got cheated by Duke Heretic!

Well, as long as I'm about to funkle.
Back from the pancake breakfast at the pool. We did okay, tho not as good as the organizer had hoped. I thought it was a good first out of the gate attempt. But there weren't many yard sales around this morning, so not as many people out.
I suggested next time we print up about 50 bogus yard sale signs and post 'em with arrows directing folks to the pool.
Wife was up when I got home, but went back to bed. She got home from work about 5:00 a.m. She had taken change from our change jar (vacation is coming) in to count in the machine at work. She dropped almost $400 of quarters and had to pick them up.
So she didn't really make a big deal about the coffee. (I cleaned most of it up, but stuff on the counter is still a bit stained...I'm working on it)

Yeah, 'cause I'm really a Virginia Tech fan and we aren't known for basketball. UVA is better in basketball, but I'd hate to go thru life with my head up my....
Wife is a long time Duke fan (grew up in NC), so I've adopted them for basketball. That's it.
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, I'll try not to hold it against you. Too much. ;-)
To: ecurbh
I don't lose any sleep over it if they lose. I'm more concerned about Virginia Tech and football.

Hi everybody! I'm just popping in for a minute. Today's our anniversary which neither of us remembered until VERY late last night (I reminded him). Every year we forget it. The first year we forgot it completely until his mom called 3 days later to wish us a happy one. LOL! I guess we'll wait 'til next weekend to celebrate, sheesh!
To: ecurbh
Still sitting here watching Frodocam and listening to an endless phone conversation :~\
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm sorry! I have to get something to eat now. I'll be back before I have to go to work.
To: trini
Happy Anniversary!

It is good, actually, we had a lot of catching up to do! - Whenever I talk to this particular friend, it can be two hours or more! This one was relatively short!
