The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

perhaps...Dickens never really specifies how old Carton is...just that he had a rather dissolute life...he'd probably be at the perfect age because most young men in the 18th century had led quite a life by the time they were 25. I think he'd be fabulous.

Bloom IS Legolas :-)
Well I had forgotten some minor details, but I remember the basic plot and the ending. The things I forgot I don't mind hearing about. I love hearing spoilers and what to expect in the next film. I can hardly wait.

do you think...any of those guys/actors are aware of Free Republic? I mean, some of them at least???
none of them are, I would bet, but I get curious sometimes...
oh piffle, just hand me a pebble...

I'd bet that Viggo isn't or he'd have a clue! LOL!
I wonder if any of them have time to even surf the internet all day. I'm certain their schedules have got to be hectic and free time is a luxury. It seems to me that they have the funds to spend their free time doing other things.
Unless they knew about FR before their fame, I seriously doubt they have time to see us now.

(HHD - What are the details on this Entmoot?)
To: Dawntreader
LOL! Boy, if we let our imaginations run in this vein, we'll ALL be in trouble. *grin*
That said, I'd honestly be thrilled to meet any of them and pick their brains. Even Viggo!
To: Dawntreader
I missed your tagline before, sorry!
The big Entmoot is next January, the weekend of the 9th in Melbourne, Florida. ksen lives in that area and will try to host us in his home for a FoTR and TTT viewing before heading out to the nearby theatre to see RoTK.
He's gone ahead and spoken to the manager there and found out that for about $30/each, we can rent out the whole theatre for just the Hobbit Holers!
As the date approaches, we'll be working on hotel rates and more detailed aspects of the Entmoot.

I'd love for Vigs to bring his photos that he shot during the filming of the films. We caught some glimpses of his work in the extra features and I'd like to see more. He clearly has an eye for capturing a moment- liberal wacko or not.

well, I gotta get off...so I shall leave you with yet another RD excerpt...
LISTER: I've done it.
HOLLY: Done what?
LISTER: Erased Agatha Christie.
HOLLY: Who's she, then?
LISTER: Holly, you just asked me to erase all Agatha Christie novels from your memory.
HOLLY: Why should I do that? I've never heard of her.
LISTER: You've never heard of her because I've just erased her from your smegging memory.
HOLLY: What'd you do that for?
LISTER: You asked me to!
HOLLY: When?
LISTER: Just now!
HOLLY: I don't remember this.
LISTER: Oh, I'm going to bed. This is gonna go on all night.

That sounds like fun!
Does that mean you all are going to wait until Jan. 9 to see ROTK??? Or are you just going to see it again, with everybody?

LOL..thanks for the dose of RD!
Have a good afternoon!
To: Dawntreader
I plan on seeing it with my
Line Party first...but if it's anything like TTT experience, I'll be so freaked out I won't be able to even comprehend what I'm watching...so the first time I actually
see the film will likely be at Moot.
To: Sam Cree
Do you think us hobbits are as fond as eating as the real ones? I am starting to get that idea. Well, as for me, (and ruthy) I think food is at least as important as Hobbits think it is.
I can speak for you on that can't I Ruthy?

RIMMER: Well, a highly enjoyable meal all round. Obviously you can't expect perfection first time but I was quite delighted with the way my dumplings went down.
LISTER: Rimmer, real dumplings, proper dumplings when they're properly cooked to perfection, proper dumplings, should not bounce!
RIMMER: True, but compared to what I thought they were going to be like they were quite superb.
LISTER: So how's the Cat?
RIMMER: He's just sleeping off the stomach pump. He'll be alright. The lamb was a bit of a flop though.
LISTER: The lamb? Everybody thought the lamb was the cheese and that lemon meringue pie, man, what was in that?
RIMMER: I thought you liked that, you brought some back.
LISTER: Yeah, I wanted to try some on me athlete's foot.

Note the hair flowing together in #5291?
I wonder if I could get Steve to grow his hair really long? He's pretty indulgent...but I don't know!
To: Lil'freeper
you drive a pickup? Seems like alot of Hole dwellers do. I do!
I do too... but I didn't get a new 4WD last weekend like I'd planned. :-(
