Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

BOSSMAN: Corin, please call and find out this information. CORIN: Here is this information.

That is a funny article...
Its just the excitement of being at Disney, Bloom tells me. It would be like this for anyone.
Nice try, pal.

From that article above, ROTFL... The writer had fun with this one:
Theres absolutely nothing sexually threatening about an elf, Bloom says earnestly. (Grandma should embroider that on a pillow.) Legolas is a good, safe guy for girls to pin their dreams on. And so was Bloomyou didnt want to sleep with him, exactly, just doodle his name in your three-ring binder. Nearly 200 fan sites sprang up overnight. Leo DiCaprio has only 80. Whos king of the world now?
Orlandos a one-man boy band, says Pirates costar Keira Knightley, whose fetching Elizabeth Swann gets some above-the-corset action with her fellow Britwhich helped earn the films PG-13 rating, a Disney first. So far, its Blooms only on-screen romance, and Knightley (of Bend It Like Beckham) is bracing for a teeny-bopper backlash. We were filming our kiss, and someone brought her daughters to the set, she recalls. I thought I was going to be lynched by a little blond mob. Might any good come from deflowering Bloom?

If yer enlistments up, yuh go home... unless the Army puts the unit under "stop loss", in which case, they get discharged when they come home... I have no idea of the status of the 82nd...
but the career planners love a deployed environment... re-enlistments increase dramatically... the whole "Band of Brothers" bonding...

ROTFLMDBAO!
In the meantime, he wears the matinee-idol mantle with a surprising degree of grace and class. During the course of this interview, he pauses repeatedly to sign autographs, to rub a pregnant womans belly andplease, no more!to help an old man whose electric wheelchair has broken down. Oh God, Bloom groans, I seem like such a wanker.
No. To millions of teenage girls, Bloom seems like a slightlysubversive Eagle Scout, the boy next door with supernatural bone structure. Unless this guy starts drowning puppies soon, hed better get used to the screaming.

Yeah...I figure it would be kinda hard for someone to say "Well...that's it for me! See ya, guys!"
The chaplain's wife is hoping to have him home by mid-August...he's been in Afghanistan since January, iirc.

So did the tang pictures get lost or weren't there any?

They were apparently attached to the email she sent me, because it took forever (like usual) for them to load into my OE. 56K, you know...
But when I opened the emails, there were no attachments. I tried to open them through my online email too and there were no attachments there either. (I actually did that first.)
To: 2Jedismom
hmmmmm - did you reply and ask her if there were pics that were supposed to be there?

I did. I wrote her back and told her the pictures didn't come through and could she send them to me again.

Thanks Hair! I'm hoping it's just irritated from the long walk at the zoo.

Well, let me ask you this...
If, after you serve for say, 6-8 months, like the chaplain, away from home...how long is it you get to stay home after you get home? Do you get to stay home for another 6 months, then off you go somewhere else?
I am just curious...I know nothing about this kind of thing!
To: HairOfTheDog
Ramius should show you, if he still has it, the tale of the "Pail of that which stinketh"I wanna hear it!! That sounds like some of my sister's type of poetry-epic-things!

Last night I was cleaning my closet and came across a mirror that was my grandmother's that I had wrapped carefull and put in the back of my closet over 10 years ago when we moved into this house. Along with the mirror were some posters I had forgotten all about. Not sure when I bought them, but they are Steve Hickman's series 1 - The Invisible Thief, 2 - Battle Before the Gate, and 4 - The Dread Vale. I don't have #3 - The Watcher at the Gate. I don't remember why not. I probably bought them over 20 years agon. They all have thumbtack marks in the corners, but other than that they are beautiful posters, in great shape. I especially like the Invisible Thief.
Anybody know if they are worth $$$$?? :)
Here's a website with them.
