Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I love companies that don't make a mission-impossible scenario out of every little thing. Same here. I've been fighting with AOL. It was a stupid move on my part (I knew better), but I was checking to see if AOL would be an option for Jr's laptop to be connected when he is mobile. (Yes, I know it was stupid, but it was "free"...right? Well, sorta)
But with my Dell purchase I got two offers from AOL. One for 6 months free. One for one month free. I don't know why BOTH were on the desktop. I missed it in May, but realized in June that AOL was billing my checking account and they hit me again in July before I could get them to stop. So I've contacted them and Dell.
Dell at first said "you clicked the wrong icon." I made it plain to them I did not. This a.m. I got an email from Dell that said "Sorry for your inconvenience. Let us know how much you were billed. We will refund you and get our money back from AOL."
THAT's cool! I had even told them it wasn't their responsiblity to pay me back, just to help. But they made this offer. I am most pleased.

If someone is deployed and it comes time for their re-inlistment and they don't re-inlist...what happens? They send them home?
I just see a lot of pictures of re-inlistment ceremonies on the Afghanistan 82nd Airborne website I frequent...

Keep your temper Corin! Not a problem. I just needed to rant. There will be a definited end to this stupidity (I'll s'plain at Entmoot). But I gotta wonder. How do some people get to be bossman? For that matter, how do they get dressed in the morning?
Seriesly, I raised this issue a month ago. The information has not and will not change. But other than my going postal, the exchange above is exactly how it happened.
