The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I just got done watching
The Ring by myself in a dark room. Well, I turned the lights on at about 45 minutes into the thing.
Pardon my french, but that was the scariest d@mn movie I have ever seen, or that I have seen in a long time. That includes seeing Signs and The Sixth Sense.
My wife and daughter are away for the week at teen camp, so I think I may be up a little while longer....let's see, where did I put those Dr. Seuss books?

Good morning!

5. Ask: "Do you have any statement that they would like to have read to the media?" I don't remember that being on the list. They had check boxes for background noises.

Argh! I just called Lowes to give them my dad's cell phone number so I could stay online. So they could call me before delivering my new fridge...
I speak to I guess the operator and she tries to call back to the delivery guys...no answer. She says they haven't got there yet. Puts me through to the manager.
I start to tell the manager that I need to give him a different phone number for the delivery and he interupts me and says "Ma'am, let me put you through to our delivery guys." I said "We just tried that." and he said "Hold one moment." Puts me on hold, gotta endure KD Lang singing "Constant Craving". He comes back on and says "Our delivery guys are outside loading." I said "Well, I tried to tell you we just tried calling them already..." He did apologize and took my phone number.
Sigh...why must my BP be elevated this early in the morning?

I had never been to the hill country .. we went to New Braunsfel, Canyon Lake, Gruene, San Antonio .. it was soooooooooooo fun. Speaking of bikes, we drove the truck to the square in New Braunsfel, then took the bikes and rode to Landa Park to watch the fireworks... then we rode our bikes all around that park and part of town in the middle of the night while everyone else was fighting traffic to get home .. it was FABULOUS.. I love our bikes.

There used to be a great bakery there on that square in New B. Made the best colaches!
I used to love to go "tubing" in New B. I lived in Austin for a long time. Loved it!

Good morning!
I'm waiting for my fridge...they've called a couple of times, verifying the location! Woohooo!

I just got done watching The Ring by myself in a dark room. Are you saying that if you'd been wearing skivvies, you would've soiled them?
I have The Ringon my Netflix queue.

Are you saying that if you'd been wearing skivvies, you would've soiled them? Yep....
I have The Ringon my Netflix queue.
Let me know what you think after you watch it.
This isn't giving anything away: Part of the story is that whoever watches this certain videotape gets a phone call as soon as the tape is over and voice tells them they have seven days. They then die exactly seven days later.
Anyway, one of the main characters had just finished watching the tape and MY phone rang! This was after 11:00pm. It ended up being a wrong number, but it still unnerved me. ;^)

I know it. Joshua woke me up bright and early...he went back to sleep. Sigh.
Oh well, I had lots to do. I had to clean out our current fridge. It still works...but it frosts up so bad about once a week we have to haul everything out and thaw it. It's 25 years old...time for a new one!
Now my dryer is tearing holes in our knits...tee shirts and stuff have ripped places on them...sigh...
I've been sighing all morning.
