Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

After those pics your sister posted I was thinking the world needed more pirates! As long as the Pirate/Wench coefficient remains stable, then it's all a matter of maintaining balance.

Arrrggggghh...
oops... forgot there for a second that I am descended from long line of Vikings. They got into the whole "pillaging" concept way before the Pirates.
The Pirates had something of an advantage, though. They got to pillage the Caribbean, whereas the Vikings got stuck with the North Atlantic. Iceland? Please... gimme a break... they'd have been better off with Barbados, the Bahamas and such. Sure... the Pirates had handkerchiefs on their heads, but the Vikings had those cool hats with the horns on them. Better image, really. :-)

As long as the Pirate/Wench coefficient remains stable, then it's all a matter of maintaining balance. I don't think that us wenches think the coefficient is stable. Of course, we probably don't think the pirates are stable either. but that's part of the attraction!

Yes, our ancestors were off raping and pillaging white pasty wimmin that lived on whale blubber and looked lousy in a bikini.... Actually, the truth is that the Irish and Scotch had some of the more high-end babes of the time, and the Vikings ran off with most of them. That pushed the Scandinavian gene pool in a most postive direction. I would present, as anectocal evidence... the Swedish Bikini Team:
