The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

My favorite musical. I've got them so many of them. Concept album, London Cast, Broadway Cast, Complete Symphonic Recording, Dream Cast, French Cast, Manchester Cast, and Hebrew Cast.

There are more, but on Ebay, they always go for more money than I'm willing to pay.

Hhmm, sounds like the Democratic Party is Oriental in their thinking as well.

You will like Miss Saigon, and you will like Ragtime.

Right now, I'm listening to Man of LaMancha with Brian Stokes Mitchell. What a fantastic voice.

After this, I'm putting in Ragtime.

I think my favorite song on there is Empty Chairs and Empty Tables (I think that's the name of it anyway).

I also really like the one where the ghost of Cosette's(?) mother appears to Valjean at the end. Very sad moment. There's a line where she mentions Grace, I think, that always gets me.

Don't tell anyone that I am a fan of Hunter Thompson and P.J. O'Rourke. It'd blow my nice guy image. ;^P

Fabulous Kevin.... I will never tell!

Good morning everyone! - Just getting caught up here, and I see we are doing algebra. Algebra is cool, I always liked it, but it is really hard for me to read it on screen and get it! - Perhaps after more coffee.

Les Mis is such an incredible story of grace and redemption (or is it redemption and grace...;-) )

I've not seen/heard Miss Saigon or Ragtime, but I'd like to. Maybe I'll check 'em out the library.

We did see the DC premier of Shogun. Mistake. Big mistake. It never made it to New York.

Just popped in FOTR.

I also need to get the Hitchhiker book(s)...what's the exact title again?

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is the first of the 4 books in the trilogy. The second is Life, the Universe, and Everything, then So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish, and lastly Mostly Harmless

Do Orientals lie and fabricate?

The communist ones do. Think Tiananmen Square.

Yeah, but is that a communist or an oriental characteristic?

Speaking of putting out a few nice things, where's Ruthy?

We can scrounge around for breakfast (mmmmmm...scrounge), but I hope Alyson is better and all is well.
