Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Heh....rough night?
To: Overtaxed
Caroused a little! Not too bad though....
Gonna walk out to the witch's circle with my coffee when it is done brewing and try to get inspired to work on it before the rains they are promising get here.

Sleepy heads! Good Afternoon! I wish! My body clock never lets me sleep past 0730 anymore- regardless of how late I stay up. Of course, the kitty clock is set to 0500. They like to pounce to remind you that they'd like to be fed.

I just got back in from whacking weeds with the weed whacker. I didn't get to plant everything that I wanted and some of the stuff didn't come up....or the varmints ate it. I need to keep the weeds reasonable and get ready to plant a fall crop there.

Kitty has me trained well.....I'm not even bothered when she wakes me up at 0500 anymore!

Nearly good afternoon all.
Been up since six, dog walked, more gardening, now getting a bit warmish so a break was in order. An aquaintance is supposed to come over for bow building pointers so cleaned the bench a bit and Sue helped me adjust the band saw. Actually, she stood by with phone in hand ready to dial the last 1 in 911 as I fine tuned the clearance blocks. All is well I'm happy to report. Grass is dry enough to cut and we're expecting rain later so must get cracking again.
LF: we got a cat like yours. She saves her pouncing for Susan, she only pounced on me once. One might say I took umbrage but all was forgiven when I opened the can of tuna-then made the coffee (something is just wrong with that order, its supposed to be coffee first, then feed the cat. lol.)

Ours get flung on weekends. Not nice, I know. But they like it enough to come back for another go. ;)
To: Lil'freeper
Fling the cat? I'd never have the nerve to treat Her Majesty in such a callous manner. :)
To: Overtaxed
It's better than dwarf tossing. ;)

she stood by with phone in hand ready to dial the last 1 in 911 as I fine tuned the clearance blocks. Yikes!

Gotta share the latest on the homefront. They corrected the inital oops with the footer (they done forgot to add in a major extension) but repeated the mistake by pouring a basement wall in the wrong place. Here's a pic of their solution:

Fortunately the remaining walls are still one piece- no seams or anything. This builder is driving me insane. How hard is it to look at the blueprints?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gidget and I sat out by the new fire ring and thought about our options over coffee
And there isn't really any more I can do today.... The place needs the power mower, which I don't have, and rain, which I can't do either.
What did they do there? - They poured that wall and then cut it out?
This builder is driving me insane.
Yeah - that is what they do.
