The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think Sam Cree used to be in the tee-shirt business... Or the sign making business, I believe. Either way, he'd be familiar with it. :)
He's out of town this weekend and I just remembered that tomorrow is his birthday!! So....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM CREE!

Brazen. Absolutely brazen.
Dwarves - your absence has allowed the Precious to fall into the hands of the polka dancer. *wink*

In the book, Theoden was ready to fight. In the movie, he was not. That's how I remember it too. The general "wimpifying" of the Men (and Women) of Rohan was one of the things I didn't like about the movie.
To: My back yard
It appears to be some concocted blending of orange, lime, strawberry and watermelon juices. Looks delicious! Yeah, some sort of fruit smoothie, I think. Looks good! And cold!
I'm on that Mayo Clinic Diet since the 16th, and I've lost 10lbs so far. Pretty good:) It hasn't been hard at all, even though I don't care for meat, I've managed it ok.
What's the Mayo Clinic Diet? I've never heard of it.

Check out his tribute...second paragraph. Thank you for sharing this with us, 2J.

That's how I remember it too. The general "wimpifying" of the Men (and Women) of Rohan was one of the things I didn't like about the movie. I'm still mad that they wimpified Aragorn.
Not to mention corrupted Faramir - that's my worst pet peeve so far. RRRRRRRrrr!
To: RosieCotton
Though I admit Aragorn wasn't so wimpy in TTT.
Might as well funkle. *sigh*
To: RosieCotton
Naw, don't funkle!
To: osagebowman
To: RosieCotton
Not to mention corrupted FaramirOh, yes... I didn't care for that either. Still don't! But, what's done is done. My wife (who still hasn't read the books) says that I'm being overcritical and that the movie portrayal of Faramir is more "realistic". Grrr, it's a fantasy story! If you can't have virtuous heroes in a fantasy story, where can you have them?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; All
Hi Bear!
Well folks, I'm heading our early today. I'll get the minimoot pics up as soon as I can tomorrow!
