The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, since I lean toward biblical names, all the "P" biblical names would be ok, I would think. Jake Philip?

You should have at least a trickle draining out of the pool entirely, while being replaced with an equal one filling. It doesn't have to be much.

This keeps the water wonderfully clear without chlorine or filtration, I have been told. Then you can keep fish in it. A school of catfish could be great, then, whenever you are hungry, out with the dip net and the skillet and bread crumbs.

She's been sneezing since she was a baby...a tiny puff ball, still. Doesn't seem to hinder her and she's growing well...

She doesn't act sick and I've treated her with no results, so I'm just going to let her be.

She looked cute, though...all puffed out. This is the coolest it's been since she's been put outdoors...

Yeah, fish fries are great.

That was pretty * humorous in the picture with the guy holding that stuff. I never would have known what he was holding.

Going to show it to Jeanne when she gets in. My daughter'll be amused, too, she was impressed to hear about the care package project.

Thanks.

Yeah I guess it dried out overnight. That is acutually what we think happened. Last night when I would hit the space bar, it took me to yahoo??? and if I hit the shift key I didn't get a captial but the letter I wanted with an 'n' after it.

This morning since it is working good, Mack says I probably got something in it yesterday and now it has dried. Did you know I use a WebTV with a remote keyboard?

Yeah - I saw your setup in that pic when 2J was there. I am glad that whatever key was stuck go un-stuck!

I think they all were...the girls too...they all look like they are cracking up.

Sigh...and I thought it was because we made them so happy.

Ha ha ha!!! I really love it.

Did I mention that my sister and I watched "The Maltese Falcon" last night?

Classic Bogart.

However I was shocked to discover that apparently she's never seen "Casablanca"!?! I'm not sure how she managed that - we watched it pretty frequently when I was growing up. I told her we HAD to remedy that soon.

Heh...we still can't find "White Heat". The movie availability here is horrid.

If I wasn't such a slob I'd go for Netflix, but I'm afraid I'd lose something and get in trouble. Plus I like watching movies over and over. Probably better off with the slow route, buying stuff I like a little at a time.

Bogart was great in all those old classis. Mack and I use to watch them all the time. We always laughed in the one To Have and Have Not, no one ever lost their hats.

My kids were always warning their friends not to let me know if they hadn't seen Gone With The Wind. I always made any who hadn't seen it sit down and watch. Most of them ended up liking it in the end. My daughter and DIL, got their own copies.

Heh....I know what's wrong with DVD computer....it's the software...which means I probably have to pry open the wallet and actually buy something. :)

A little more prying will be needed before I get another DVD player.
