Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Naw, birdshot won't kill them, but it will give them something to think about. Also good for neighbor dogs.

gernade...LOL...you've got the same idea as I do. But I do have to look out for the horses. I may move one tonight so that tomorrow she is out of the way.She was standing this morning right in the way. When the coyotoe came around from behind her is when I knew what it was. By then it was walking away.
Macks a pretty good shot, but we have the horses, and a house on the other side of the trees they are going away into. Lot of stuff to consider.

Aaacck!!! My eyes! My eyes!
I went to look in the palantir and she was staring back at me...I should know better.

Heh..... OK, Great Pyrenese then or a Shepherd. I wouldn't recommend a hunting breed or you will have a harder time convincing them that the chickens are part of the family, and not the sport.
My ex boyfriend that had chickens and peacocks swore by airedales to guard them, but I don't think that is what they were bred for.

Mornign everyone!
I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. It seems I couldn't evade the nasty little flu that's going around. Sadly, neither did my girls. Despite feeling terrible myself, I was up half the night with Becky and Alyson rubbing Vicks on their chests and medicating them as necessary. Alyson does not like having the bulb syringe used on her nose, thanks for sure! Whew! Her crying just broke my heart.
2J- thanks so much for sharing those pics with us. I got misty-eyed seeing how happy they are too!
On to breakfast...

Oh, I had a bit of a snippy exchange with Dr. E yesterday. Somehow because I asked (at least twice) not to be pinged for their Potter discussions, when I snap back suddenly I'm the one with the "short fuse."
But I just went over and clicked on one of Rn's posts. She said something like "that's because Arminians believe..." and she knows she's lying (or she spent 30 years as a stupid Arminian...). It's one thing to disagree with a theology. She deliberately misrepresents.

Good Luck:), Heelers are not for everyone. Ours were wonderfully affectionate and protective, but they would just not leave my horses alone. In fact that is how that one died. Got kicked in the head.
If I was to get another dog, I would like to find just a good size mutt. but I don't really want too do even that. I love dogs, I have a 2 yr old Jack Russell But I am trying to scale down on livestock. Mack and I got an RV last year, and I want to do some traveling. It is hard to do when you have lots of livestock. Susie, the Jack, goes with us. My kids took care of everything last year, but I feel bad leaving dogs behind. I don't know what this other heeler I have will do now she is by herself. And she has never traveled well. And I feel bad leaving all this for the kids. They have their own places and animals to care for AND full time jobs.

You know, I've never been to an IHOP. I think they have 'em up north, but definitely not out in the boonies.
However, we do have diners. Lots of diners. Really, really good diners.

You know, I've never been to an IHOP. Trust me, you aren't missing much. IHOP is best for breakfast after a long night of adult beverage consumption...

Okay... remember the old adage. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Yes, she is lying. It is deliberate. No, she feels no remorse because she has received acceptance from the Calvin gang. They hit hard, and she feels that it reflects well on her when she hits harder. (She has told me this)
95% of those on the religious forum are there, looking for a fight, an argument, a chance to prove that they are theologically sound and, worse, that they have a revelation from God that no other has. (After spending years in a charismatic church, I learned the hard way that those are the people you want to stay away from).
