Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I alternate between the chocolate and vanilla flavors. We always eat out on Wed. and Sund. with the kids after church. Last nite we went to an all you can eat mexican rest.:), LOL, We had coupons so we got it cheaper. I don't think they made any profit on us last night.
I may have to have 2 slim fast days to recover from last night:)

Hey, aren't you on the wrong multi-thousand post thread? ;^) I noticed you and Cindy and Mack/Becky were here. Do they know anything about hobbits? Or are we taking over this thread now? You wanna debate Calvinism?
How ya doin'?
Far better than I deserve! You?
To: IMRight
Do they know anything about hobbits? I don't but I'm gonna try to pick up a paperback this weekend while I'm at the lake and read it? :')

I don't but I'm gonna try to pick up a paperback this weekend while I'm at the lake and read it? :') Don't plan on actually seeing the lake eh? (Unless you're talking about just the Hobbit or one of his shorter stories). I've read the series at least a couple dozen times and it still takes me more than a weekend when I skip a few chapters.
That would make an interesting question for the group. "Which storylines do you skip when re-reading LOTR for fun?" Or would that get me lynched?

I her you all talkin' 'bout Atkins... high protein... yada yada...
all I can say is, I work hard... eat meat and green veggies and fruit... avoid sweets... and drink my carbs... I'm the same weight I've been since high school... and no... it ain't genetic...
so I'd say the high protein, low carb guys are onto somethin'... it seemed like common sense to me 23 years ago...
To: Lil'freeper
I can only imagine... hey... they did not get it from me...

"Which storylines do you skip when re-reading LOTR for fun?" *gasp* SKIP a storyline?!!!
Get a rope. ;)

Hey, I can fish and read at the same time, just fine (as long as Eddie baits my hook). Actually we are going to mow and make sure that storm that come thru didn't damage anything. I forgot that I still have those dvds. Might watch some of them.
To: IMRight; CindyDawg
This group convinced me of the same thing, that I needed to read the books. They recommended that I read the Hobbit first. I got about halfway thru it then watched LOTR's.
I thought it was a good movie, and I do want to watch it again and see the next one.
But....gulp...I am not that big into this type of fantasy. So I haven't been able to get back to The HObbit. I probably won't try to read the books till winter. Too much horse stuff going in the summer. Although you can't tell it today huh:)? Actually I am going tonight down to the arena and meet my daughter to work on barrels. We use the arena in town, we can turn on the lights.

Chocolate chip cookie dough, mint chocolate chip. Chocolate = antioxidants....yeah, that's the ticket!
To: RosieCotton; Overtaxed
