Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yours is not a bad opus, but it could have used pictures!
You are just being silly I hope! Sit down and relax a while. I said we never fight. You are making a liar out of me!

You know, a joke's a joke and fun is fun, but you're getty really tiresome.... We don't want folks to get the wrong impression ... No indeed, folks will be overwhelmed by the amount of elf-bashing that goes on here- they won't need help forming an impression. My apologies that a lone voice or two speaking up for elf-kind in the face of overwhelming odds gets everyone so uptight (elfish even?). I take nothing on this forum personally and hope that you all share the same philosophy.
(I love you all and can't stand the silent treatment!)
Back at ya, Ruthie- even after all your elf-bashing. ;) But sometimes work makes demands on a soul- I can't freep all day!
To: Lil'freeper
I can't freep all day! Really now? ;~D
To: All
Did I miss something? What is going on?

From Corin's profile page:
Corin Stormhands is on hiatus. He'll return if and when he feels like it.
To: Overtaxed; ksen
I guess I really need to go read over the last few days of posts. I don't get what's going on.

I think our elf-dwarf wars got a little bit too rowdy.
To: Overtaxed
Hm. Tempted to make some comments, but I'll refrain...

Go ahead. Say it! It's all my fault.
To: Overtaxed
Just that the idea of a war between tall, elegant elves short fierce dwarves strikes me as amusing. But I don't wanna bash one side or the other!

Oops. Make that AND short fierce dwarves. Waist level for an elf, or about, right?

The Hobbit: It was known a while back that the film rights to JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit", the single-book adventure which also serves as a prequel to the events in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, were obtained by New Line in order to stop other studios or filmmakers coming in and cashing in on what is one of the biggest film franchises in history. Peter Jackson also indicated a while back he has zero interest in turning this adventure into a film. Well in a recent interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, he's still not keen on the idea but isn't shutting that door entirely - "People ask if I'm going to do 'The Hobbit' as my next film, and the answer is no. I think when I'm done with this trilogy I'll need a break from this theme and move on. I'm not saying never, but certainly not immediately".
To: Paul Atreides
Makes sense to me that he would need a very long vacation after this project... High intensity projects like this one can't go on indefinately... there needs to be an end... and then go away, and see if it sounds good again in a few years!

I'll have to go back and read the official description but as I recall Gimli was a bit taller than that in the movie.
To: Overtaxed; Lil'freeper
That stinks!!!
I hope he comes back soon. I'll miss him dearly.
LF - I don't take anything too personal. There are of course some days when I do, but I quickly realize it's just me being overly sensitive. There are enough trolls in the world to more than make up for the occassional ribbing by friends. :)
Well, on another subject, I tried installing the PC game again here at work. I may have figured out the problem tough. My WinZip wasn't set as the default for reading ZIP files and that is what the ENGLIS~2.cab file it cannot read is! A HA! Now we will see!

To: HairOfTheDog
If PJ waits too long, he'd have to recast Bilbo and maybe Gandalf. Okay....maybe not Gandalf. But Bilbo should look younger in The Hobbit than in LOTR.
To: RMDupree
I just stick with Solitaire....don't have too many installation problems with it. :)
