The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I thought it was Rivendell that didn't need any. Must be who those Numenoreans got it from.
Must be from whom those Numenoreans got it.

Well, they are descended from Elrond's brother. :)

Except...I have no connections with Gondor!Must be an example of parallel development... the kind of linguistic mystery Prof. Tolkien would have enjoyed. :)

Rats. I got another meeting with the trolls comin' up (they came back). Don't know how long it will last.
See y'all later.

Heh...ever wonder what he'd think of us...and our new "discoveries"?
To: Corin Stormhands
(they came back)You have to burn trolls with fire to keep them from regenerating. < /D&Dgeek >

Well... from some interviews and letters I've seen referenced, apparently he didn't think much of the fans he had in the 60's & 70's. And, I don't think he would have been very interested in the Internet, either.

I think my wondering killed the thread...
It was a fun thread while it lasted!

Lot's of people out slaying trolls or making journeys today!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Lot's of people out slaying trolls or making journeys today! Hobbits don't slay trolls...and they avoid making journeys whenever possible! So I'm still here.
Tonight is my brother's birthday party. Think I get any mathoms? Probably not, which is just as well!

I got some scratch for my chickens. The smallest bag they had (unless I went to another store, but I didn't want to run all over the place) was 50lbs! For 2 chickens! So I got the 50lbs and divided it up into quart baggies and put it in the fridge out in the shop. I hope it will stay fresh longer out there.
I had the baggies all piled up on my table, full of scratch and they avalanched down and knocked a glass of my table. Now I have tiny little shards all in my carpet and on the floor around my table.
So I'm mopping and vacuuming.

Did you get it at Bixby?
If you have the room to keep it in the fridge then it's probably the cheapest way. Does feed have an expiration date? I have always kept feed in trash cans with lids in the feed room. But with only 2 chickens I don't know if it would go bad stored that way before you would use it up.
