Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That is so cool, I can't even express the level of coolness that is.

What have you got sceduled during entmoot?I'm hoping to have the recommencement of shuttle flights occur that week. Now that we have a firm date I may have better success.

It is just a bit of fun! - I miss TNR.Is he even on the site anymore?
I think Destructo was just as interesting, though he didn't resort to freepmail...

Is this the one where they took up the kid's names?I'm not sure. Maybe you can find out on NASA's webpage or the webpage of the Kennedy Space Center.

Sometimes looks like that here, but we have trees!I thought those were trees under the mounds of snow in your pic.

Heh... there are trees in Upper Michigan where I grew up, too, but some large fields can look like that picture... also, Lake Superior looks like that sometimes.

I can't get it to work right now...I'll try again later.
I went slightly burzurk at the dollar store. I was shopping for my friend in Iraq. Got a bunch of good deals. The best thing I got was little packets of orange "breakfast beverage" that you mix in water. The good thing about it that it comes in resealable pouches...so you take out what you want and reseal it. I thought that would be easier for him to deal with in Iraq. It also had a "cappucino" mix that you just add hot water to...same deal, in a little resealable pouch.
That is the thing I have to think about with him and not so much with the guys in Afghanistan. Size and bulk. The largest thing I bought for this guy was a thing of Gold Bond powder which I sealed up with packaging tape and wrapped in plastic baggies.

Hi all, just briefly checking in. Had a lot on my plate today and am finished with all but a couple of errands. At work now. Just finished meetings. Will catch up on posts when I get home.
Anyway, good afternoon.

Hey Wneighbor...see my post up above about the orange drink mix in a pouch. Might be a good thing to get your SIL. Do you have a "Deals" store where you live? If not, I could get you some and drop it in the mail...
To: Wneighbor
Good afternoon!
I just realized you grabbed a really cool post number on Sunday.

I'm off to the post office! I have one package that I'm sending out to the chaplain today, from the Hobbit Hole. I picked up the stuff in it on a whim at Walmart (it is mostly socks, because he indicated they could always use them and they were a good buy). Anyway, it includes some Little Debbies, some granola bars and some more Tang.

The pre or early-pubescent (or younger) female body is the standard of beauty. The reason all of these woman models look like pre-pubescent boys is because almost all of the designers and photographers are gay men...

sniff... you don't need me no more...
