Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Nutritional reserves are required to 'grow' healthy children, especially the fat-soluble vitamins such as the B's (including folic acid), A, D, and E. Preganancies take a huge toll on women who have poor nutritional reserves and inadequate daily nutrition. Instead of building the baby from the nutrients she eats, her own body is robbed of the necessary elements. I've seen pictures of women with walking-skeleton figures like Ann's with the most bizarre spinal deformities caused by calcium lost to the baby during pregnancy. The babies were frail and sickly. Supplementation can only do so much and it certainly cannot create health where none existed otherwise. Hope that clarifies things a bit.

I wish I still had that curse. I was never more than 110 pounds until I had my first child. My metabolism was lightening fast.

Now, I'm learning to accept it will never be that way again!

Point is, she's FAT by today's standards. I'd hate to see her BMI.

I think if you are eating and thin, then I hate you (;~D) but you aren't unhealthy, the baby is getting the food!

I think we made the assumption for sake of argument that Ann, and supermodels, for the most part are trying too hard to be thin. Calista Flockhart also claims that she eats! - I have heard it is done!

Well, yeah! But if all the fashion designers are saying that's what we should wear, and we buy into it, then (oh, here we goooooooooo..) are we then muddying the waters as to what distinguishes what a young man should be attracted to.

I mean, if we LOOK like boys and they are attracted to us, are we muddying up the distinction of male and female vs male and male attraction.

(Dang it, I know WHAT I want to say, I just can't get it out .. does any of this make sense?)

Thank you for posting the double-pic... my neck was getting a crick in it, from my head tilting to the side while looking at the single pic. The double-pic seems to provide better balance.

There was this guy in the locker room this morning, telling his buddy that he just can't lose those last pesky three pounds, that he's stuck at 178 and wants to get down to 175.

I'd have to go back to 5th grade. (no, I'm NOT kidding)

I'd have told him to "blow it out his shorts" be he weren't wearin' any at the time...

Well, okeee dokeee then! hee hee ... i get told that DAILY where I work. I'm constantly eating something. The women I work with walk by and say "Hate ya" or "Are you STILL eating" or "Is that your second or THIRD lunch" or "what are you eating NOW"

I've been told for YEARS that it'll catch up to me ... one day.

But are you HEAVY? Or are you just not as thin as you were, and can't eat as much as you used to? I'm thinking (hoping) that if you're "genetically" thin, then you're not apt to GET heavy ..

Actually Sam 1) there was no 5th grade prom. 5th grade girls still have cooties 2) that's a guess about my weight, but I know I went over 200 in 7th grade and have never gone back under that as an adult.

Sometimes I blame my Mom. (my Dad wasn't really involved). I think she tried. She just didn't know how to help me. But she's not the reason I carry the extra pounds now.
