Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

What's worse, it caters to the nasty minds of pedophiles.

I think it 1) creates pedophiles and 2) imposes the impossibly youthful standard of beauty on girls. The boys grow up thinking that skanky is natural and beautiful. They learn to expect that a desireable female is built like a child- and that is a standard that women will never be able to meet, regardless of how much money they spend. I hate the whole cycle. Girlish women are hard to find, so why not go after the real girls. Voila! Pedophile! Now, don't I sound like a feminazi? LOL!

Raging hormones are difficult enough for teens to deal with without having to deal with cheerleaders flashing their bloomers. I truly pity your son and all boys that age. He'll be expected to behave as a gentleman, while the girls will use their new womanliness as a lethal weapon and social/political capital. It's brutal.

You make perfect sense to me. Look in any magazine and you will see models with stick figures, similar to the build of a pre-pubescent child. That becomes engrained as "normal", so when "normal" is impossible to find in adult women, the sickos look elsewhere.

It's television too, you know. I had to ask my mom to please cut Becky's TV time because she was starting to say things like "Mommy, am I fat?", "Mommy, look at my stomach!", "Mommy, do I look like a model?"

I know it isn't me, because although I my mention losing weight here in the Hole, I take care never to mention my insecurities in front of her so as to avoid her picking up on that and applying it to herself.
