Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well you both impress me and make me tired!... I have so few errands! I am errand-averse.

Don't you hate it, though...when you plan everything out so carefully...and it all goes to pot the minute you start trying to get it done?
I'd been dealing with this since last night. I bought Matthew 3 pairs of nice shorts at Walmart. Size six because the size seven looked to large...even though he wears size seven jeans.
I got him up this morning and told him to get dressed and the shorts were soooooo huge they nearly could wrap around him twice. So on the way to VBS I had to stop and exchange his shorts so he'd have something decent to wear. SIZE FOUR! Who would think that???? Same brand and everything as his jeans he wears! (Faded Glory)

Well you both impress me and make me tired!... I'm not so sure that the fact that the Stormhand's live in constant chaos is a reason to be impressed.

I think your post was meant to be a private message...but I don't find what you said offensive or anything you should be embarrassed about! I'll be the first to admit that we usually lead a pretty leisurely life!!
I'm just trying to be productive while the kids are out of my hair!
To: Corin Stormhands
Sure it is! I can be impressed without being jealous! Heh....

And it's not working!!

Don't you hate it, though...when you plan everything out so carefully...and it all goes to pot the minute you start trying to get it done? Yeah I do hate that. I'm big on having and agenda and it really gripes me when someone else messes that up.
We've been through the same thing in kid's sizes. Just don't make sense to me.
To: Corin Stormhands
Good heavens, Joshua wears size four in Garanimals! He's nearly half Matthew's age! Admittedly, Joshua is a normal sized kid and Matthew is tad on the thin side...but still!

I'm going through outfit dismay with Alyson right now.
I can't seem to find any affordable pajamas for her! You know, the ones without feet but snaps down the legs? Everywhere I go they only have them up to 9 months, but not for 12 or 18 months!! What do they expect them to wear to bed?
I've had to make do with 3 PJs (with snaps) I bought at Costco and 1 hand-me-down nightgown from Becky. *sigh*

Sorry about your problems, Lil'freeper.
I sometimes think bureaucrats, like Democrats, don't really want to solve problems, else how to justify their existence? If we had these kinds of bureaucracies and zoning boards in the 1700's, I'm sure we'd still be a third world country.
Hoping you will get it squared away fairly soon.

And I guess I could wait until tomorrow to get the care packages out...but I don't wanna! That's my favorite part of my day!
One is going to a friend of mine from church in Iraq. I'm sending him a pennywhistle with instructions and CD and everything, plus some sunscreen and stuff.
And here's another thing...I could have gone and bought the care package items for him, but I forgot my personal check book (I had the Hobbit Hole check book, but that is for the Chaplain care packages only). I didn't even have my debit card which was in my checkbook! So I couldn't even get the items and be working on this while the kids are in VBS!
ARGH!!
To: RMDupree
What a dilemma! My jedis sleep in grey knit gym shorts!
My friend Celeste that introduced me to the chaplain said she is having a horrible time finding modest clothing for her SIX YEAR OLD!
That is one thing I don't have to worry about with just having the Jedis...they wear shorts and tees and chuck taylors...every day, but to church. Josh wears it to church even.

So after reading back over this, I come to the conclusion that I am an organizational disaster.
To: 2Jedismom
Don't even get me started on the clothes they are making for 6 year old girls these days! Grrrrr....
Tube tops, short shorts, midriff halters, etc. I even saw a package of panties with sayings like "Naughty Girl", "Spank Me", "Sassy", etc on them!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, but there is absolutely NO reason for a 6 year old to look sexy!

Scrambled eggs look good, and coffee. You know, my favorite breakfast is a slice of tomatoe on toast, with a side of scrambled eggs. And coffee. yummm

Hi there!
To: Corin Stormhands
Triple 0 coming up soon!
To: 2Jedismom
No. My mom has a working knowledge of how to do it, but I'm not certain if she works off of a pattern or not.
I believe that I should start learning ASAP! :)
