Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good Morning! I am up. and er.... rested.
I actually hope we get some rain soon. A Washington resident is saying that in June! My pasture is drying up already.
To: ksen
When you're done you should have a campout! ;^) I did all that so I could do just that! Course.... Now it is a nature reserve with that baby baby and all.... can't go back there to finish the bramble pickup for a few days.

What are foodplot bundles? - Good deer forage you can plant?

I don't think those birds are as timid as you think. Your going in and out of the gate and being in the vicinity shouldn't matter. We had a barn swallow build her nest, and come back too it for about 3 yrs right above our front door. Everytime someone came in or out she flew off to an electric line sat there till we were off the porch then came back even after the eggs hatched.
We also had a bird build a nest in our shop above the motocycles. Everytime my husband went out there to work on his bikes this spring the birds would dive bomb him and sit around on things and fuss at him, but they stayed till the babies hatched.. Twice babies fell out of the nest and put them back in. Mack would get aggravated at them because they pooped on his bike. When the bird would sit and fuss at him he flipped his towels at him and cussed him, it was actually pretty funny.

Well, that is true.... I cut right over the top of him, and walked by at least fifteen times with the weedwacker running, and they hadn't left yet!

I must have 50 bunnies in my pasture right now.... I think I started this spring with a pair! I have plenty for them to eat,Hmm...I first misread this as "I have plenty of them to eat". I'm baaad...
To: RosieCotton
Coneys....
To: RosieCotton
Heh.... I can't eat my bunnies! Coneys look too much like a skinned cat to be food.

You drive 40 miles to go grocery shopping? Not on a normal basis...usually go to one that's more like five or six miles away...so no big deal. But there's a BIG one in Littleton, NH, with a lot more variety and beautiful produce and meats. Ours are pretty sad this time of year. Plus the prices are a lot better.
Of course, what I save in food prices I lose in gas, but once in awhile, it's a nice trip. Only takes about thirty or forty minutes to get there, anyway - we don't have that thing they call "traffic".

Some luck. The file is too long for the program I have and it mixes all the parts together into 1 part. Maybe I should look for another abc program that will handle multiple parts.Let me know if you find one. I talked to my bagpiper brother this weekend about this stuff...he said he hasn't found a really good program for midi / abc yet and was really interested in how your project goes!
To: RosieCotton
If you want, I can email the midi file and the abc file that I got from midi2abc.exe and let him play with it.
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, I don't think you will run them off. I would just about doing what you have been minus mowing over the top, and running the weed eater close to them:).
I have to go get my horse saddled. A friend is coming at 10:00 to ride. It finally is a pretty day here.

I doubt he'd be able to do any better than you're doing, but might have more time, I don't know. Sure, send it on! Do you have my current address?
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Have a nice ride!
To: RosieCotton
I have the one at Yahoo!
To: Overtaxed
That'll work. Thanks!
To: RosieCotton
Okay I'll do that when I get home.
