Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I don't remember if my Rose had decided she was an Elf or not... although if she did, I think she was most swayed by the fact that they were the only ones who appeared to bathe regularly.

Several people have pointed out to me that perhaps Smeagol's age is catching up to her. But, it's too planned. Over too long a period of time. And you have to see the looks in her eyes when these things happen.

It's like having a misbehaving kid sometimes, you want to laugh, but you don't want to laugh and encourage her in this behavior.

One day I took out some drippings off of meat that I had cooked. There was plenty for the cats and her to have it fill up all 4 bowls. The cats were right there when I went out and I knew if I did the dog's first they'd just run start eating hers and she'd get in a tiff. So, I filled theirs first. When I turned around to fill her bowl she'd taken a dump in her food bowl!!!!

Tolkien elves are WAYYY different from your garden variety elves. They're actually TALLER than the average human bein', best I can tell.

YES, but you don't understand, ELVES are the tallest of all beings in middle earth. We are taller than men. And taller than wizards and dwarves. And certainly taller than hobbits.

My youngest daughter is concerned. She is very height challenged for an elf.

This is exactly the reason I figured out she must be an elf! She could not stand life any other way.

Exactly, these natural Freepers are really outnumbered in those states. Whereas here, I can walk outside and anybody that I happen to talk to at any place will most likely fit in nicely on FR. Ratio of populations gives Texas lots better odds of having more people than those states - even though their population numbers are greater.

Well, crud! I went to leave, and found out my car's exhaust line is busted clean apart. So I had to drive it to the repair shop and get a ride home. Luckily there isn't anything that I absolutely HAD to do today, but its a bummer to be stranded on a day off. Grrr. And hopefully it won't take too much $$ out of the entmoot fund.

Cough Cough, I don't think so. At least, according to my ancient measuring stick of Middle Earth creatures. It registers for hobbits, dwarves, men, elves and ents. :)
