The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Glad you said that. The whole thing made me feel like a begging scum bag. But I asked the nurses what they would have thought if the doctor had said that too them, and they said they would have thought the same thing. They also said when he came in the office he told them what he had told me. So why did I have to fight???

Oh, and I want to say, the Doctor is a wonderful Christain man. I like him alot. He did RK on me about 10 yrs ago. I still feel he should know what the girls out front said.

Hey, you might could still use the dry ice technique to get your dings out and then when you trade it or sell it you'd get a bit more. NOW that, would be a deal, paid off your car AND got the dings out.

What's this "wash" word I keep hearing?

Well, it's not a dwarvish term. But the man's gonna be king, fer cryin' out loud.

We don't need no stinky kings...

But, I drove up to the post office door and there wasn't any sign like most buildings have nowdays that said shoes were required so I went right in barefoot.

That's one part of the 70s I'm glad I left behind. I hate shoes still, but usually wear soccer slides in the summer. I rarely go barefoot outside.

Maybe...though at this point, it's not new enough for that sort of damage to matter as much as the milage and all that.

I get the feeling I'm gonna drive the thing until it falls apart anyway. (Which, considering a friend has one with over 200,000 miles on it, may take awhile!). When they get old, no one cares what they look like!

Wasn't that hairstyle called a "shag" in the 70s?

Not at all. You were holding them accountable.

Me and the Mrs. sorta make that a personal crusade. We don't always win, but we usually get our point across.

I'm right in the middle of something that is getting a definitely sour note to it like that.

Remember I told all of ya'll about having the tire blow-out on the way to Myranda's graduation? And then I actually made it to Sam's and got 2 new tires that night? Well, Sam's is only 6 blocks from the house. But, when I got here after getting the tires I saw that the inner wheel cover on one of the wheels was missing. Sam's had started closing half-way through mounting my tires and they were all leaving and pulling out as I drove off so I felt it was pointless to go back then. And I was tired. I had to go to Dallas to take Myranda to the airport Sunday morning and didn't get back until after Sam's closed so didn't go over there till Monday. Of course, they didn't want to accept responsibility. But, I pointed out these facts, they called a manager. The manager told me to go buy one and bring her the bill and she would pay it. Well, I've had to order it. It might be here today. But, I have this sick feeling that it's going to be another arguement to actually get this reimbursement. They sure didn't like it.

our three boys, EW SA BB were so sweet and nerdy and honorable

I laughed when they apologized for Gollum's behavior. Don't know if you caught any of the "post-show" show, but they had a brief interview with Sean and Elijah, where they talked about sharing the "Golden Popcorn" award, having it spend a year with each of the "hobbits". When the interview-chick asked Elijah where he would keep it, he answered "In the refrigerator... it's a food item, isn't it?" Made me laugh again.

Blecchh! Shag carpet. We moved across town when I was a junior in h.s. The house we moved to had a different color shag carpet in every room...
