Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well I have a feeling I'll be listening to them again and again :-) Of course I want to eventually get them in print form too for quick reference.
That really stinks that that tape was broken. I hate when that happens. I've checked out many an audio tape at the library only to find one that's warped.

That works for me! 50 is looking 'younger' every day!! Excellent, excellent. Be it known to one and all - the official threshold for middle age (for now) has been determined to be 75.
This can be renegotiated at any date but renegotiation is only allowed to be toward LARGER numbers.

FYI All: This is the kind of elf-bashing that goes on in my house -
Top Ten Reasons Haldir Is Better Than Legolas
10 Haldir lives in the woods where he can smell nice like the forest, Legolas lives in a cave where he smells like mildew.
9 Haldir is too important and useful to be sent to a counsel with Elrond, Legolas has to go and be part of the Fellowship.
8 Haldir has brothers. Need I say more?
7 Haldir comes from a more aristocratic background ie. Rúmil and that lovely pointy nose.
6 Haldir sleeps under the lovely stars, Legolas sleeps under a nice night-grey cave.
5 Haldir's hair is nice and fluffy, unlike Legolas whose hair looks greasy sometimes.
4 Haldir is better at sneaking up on people ie. in Lothlórien, Haldir and company are on top of the Fellowship before Legolas even has time to give a warning.
3 When Haldir smiles the whole world wants to hugs with him. At Helm's Deep Aragorn hugs him after he smiles. When Legolas smiles, the Dwarf just laughs at him.
2 Haldir commands his troops, Legolas obeys commands ... give by a Man.
1 And the no. 1 reason Haldir is better than Legolas? ... He has natural blue eyes!

Ok as I am still somewhat new to this thread, what do the elfbashers love then? Are they dwarf lovers? Or do they love men over all races? Or are they Hobbit lovers? Can someone give me some background please? What is the official platform of these "elfbashers"?

Haldir is a wuss who didn't join the Fellowship because he didn't have the gravitas. He went to Helms Deep because Peter Jackson FORCED him too, where he was killed off relatively quickly even though he has tons of back up.
