Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I don't know so much about training as just living with them...I'd like them to get in the coop when I ask them to, but that might be too much to ask. Although I was on to something last night! Roy, older black chicken followed me into the porch!

ahhh...
wife used to help train chickens to do little tricks...walk a tightrope, ride a little bike, that kinda thing. even made little clothes for them.
might be able to get you some tips on how to get yours to do what you want...

I didn't think the guy made Australians look foolish, that's just what this girl said.
As far as being called a chick, IMO, I guess it would be who is saying it and in what context. Personally, I wouldn't get upset, but my druthers are I would rather not be refered to as a chick, (probably no danger of it:), maybe I am showing my age:).

Just as I hit the post button on my last post to you, I thought about the time I visited some relatives in Detroit. I was only 17. But I remember them asking me if we laid in hammocks all day drinking mountain dew, and how often did we have trouble with Indians. No kidding.I was a bit offended by that. (Now I realize that I was not the one strange but my relatives from Detroit, bad bunch of people. But that doesn't make ME think that everyone in Detroit is that way). This girl from Austrailia said she was always being asked about snakes and crocs, like that was what everyone did there.
I guess people get sterotyped by where they are from by TV and movies and people forget that TV and movies are just a small slice of something.

Just have to do that in my bedroom, with the door closed and the drapes drawn tight. Wouldn't want the small children to know, you know.
I haven't had a LOTR fix in a long time. Haven't watched the movies for a long time now. I've tried to put it all in the background a bit, hoping an ignored pot would boil faster. I'm going to watch this and then watch the FOTR tonight. And then have sweetest dreams of Numenor and brave men.
