Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I have been told that the bigger the rattler, the more venom you get if bitten. I've always regarded the things as deadly. I saw one swimming accross Otter Creek in the Everglades one day that looked well over 6 feet long. 'Course I have no idea if they really get that big, or if the thing has just grown in my imagination.
I don't know anyone that ever got bit. Once stepped in a nest of small ones up in the Blue Ridge, not sure how I got away, but think the process may have included flying. My brother was flying too. We had taken an old Bronco 4X4 through the woods, up the side of a mountain after being unsuccessful trout fishing. Very beautiful up there, could see the Blue Ridge Parkway at eye level on the next mountain accross the valley.

Welcome. Just in time for breakfast.
Just remember: the bacon belongs to the dwarves.

I wasn't sure what to make of Bruce Almighty when I saw the previews, so I am going to wait until it is in rental-land before viewing it. :)
I'm desperately trying to get the time to go see X-Men II!!!! I've already given up on seeing Matrix Reloaded until its DVD release.

Good to know .. I'll make a note of it.

I'm desperately trying to get the time to go see X-Men II!!!! That's a good one. We're still debating The Matrix Reloaded too...
To: Wneighbor
HA! When I first saw the pics, I thought it was 2J posting them! LOL!
Anyway, don't worry if the swiss rolls won't fit in the box. You can always send them to me. DO NOT send them to Corin. He is on a diet! But not me! *grinning*

Well, yer new here. We can share a little bit of the bacon.
Ruthy's always happy to cook more.
To: RMDupree
DO NOT send them to Corin. I'm wounded Ruthy.

We went to see Matrix Reloaded at the Falls, even on a Saturday, it was no problem getting seats. Forget that Nemo thing, its line was pretty huge.
First time I went to a movie since the mini moot.
Thanks.

(nice view of yer foot in the picture) Heh...which brings to something I was pondering last night (yes, I AM easily amused...)
Female elves never wear shoes in the movies, do they? Never! You'd think they'd have some really swell gold embroidered slippers or SOMETHING, but noooo...
What kinda gals live thousands of years without accumulating footwear? Very fishy...

I adore Steve Irwin. The Croc Hunter Live show begins next week. That should be pretty cool to watch. Heck, IMHO, he's always cool to watch. Anybody who can stroll up to a 8 foot salt water croc and jump on its back has my respect and admiration! HA!
Oh and you shoulda shook the bloody stump at Junior just to see how high he jumped when a drop of blood hit him. Now THAT would have been a funny picture to see! *wicked cackle*

Morning texasgal!! Welcome to our comfy Hobbit Hole!
You're just in time for breakfast. Pull up a chair and help yourself. Don't mind the Dwarves, they are more bark than bite. :)
We're an easygoing crowd in here, so relax and jump right in.

Female elves never wear shoes in the movies, do they? I don't think I've noticed that except for the Gladriel Halloween scene...
To: Corin Stormhands
hehehehehe....other Dwarves are here too, so that may be difficult to accomplish!

"Female elves never wear shoes in the movies, do they? Never!"
Nor underwear, either, luckily, or so Liv Tyler is quoted as saying...
But, since you mention it, why is it that females are so fascinated with shoes?
To: Corin Stormhands
Why would you feel wounded, Master Dwarf?
I am only looking out for you, doncha know. I am sacrificing myself at the alter of eeevil calories so that you may be fit enough to swing an axe at Entmoot. :)
Will you buy that excuse for a dollar?

OH! Hello! I'm glad you made it over here. I just checked back in after I got ready to go to the post office and mail this package to my son-in-law. Did you see the photos and list of stuff? This is all things for him from my friends here in the Hobbit Hole! We're trying to ease his Bagdhadi life just a little bit. (wonder if he's over there staying in one of them gold plated palaces?) prolly not. but I wish he got to at least one night. He's a top notch s-i-l.
Hang out and GRAB some bacon before Corin gets it all. Save me a strip if you don't mind. I'll be back in an hour or so.
