Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I love a Rhodie... anythin' bred to run down a lion is kewl by me...

guineas make good watchdogs... or so I hear... They're noisy, at least. One of my friends when I was growing up had a bunch of these. You definitely knew when anyone wandered onto their property. I personally would find 'em annoying, but...

Found this cool quote on another thread concerning the intelligence of kids:
"12. "Never try to baptize a cat." - Laura, age 13"

I contacted the Chaplain asking if it was ok to give out his address to corporations and he basically said to hold off for a month to find out what's going to happen! That sounds optimistic for him! Here is what else he said:
"I would love for the soldiers that replace us here to be blessed as I/we have. One of the neatest things that I have had the fortune to experience is receiving so many expressions of prayers and care and support, and then have the blessing to distribute the care items. Our soldiers love it! They flock to my area when they see care packages (or hear about it). As I have said before, I wish you and the great people of the Hobbit Hole could experience the blessing."
Isn't that nice? I'm going to miss sending him the items, don't you know he's going to be happy to see his 2 year old and 4 year old?

I love it that he always refers to y'all as the "Great People of the Hobbit Hole"!
To: g'nad
and yer problem with that is?... Not a problem. I just know not to sit on yer couch...
To: Sam Cree
Hehehe....I'll go along with that.
Good Morning!
Where's breakfast?
To: Lil'freeper
Mornin' LF. We got sun here, so maybe it's headin' your way.
Our cat isn't that overweight. But the dog has really packed it on since all this rain means he's stayed inside. I switched back to the diet dog food. He's not happy about it.
To: RosieCotton
I personally would find 'em annoying, but... I'm wonderin' 'bout that too... along with the crap all over the yard... good fertilizer though...
I pack heat everywhere Rosie... we gots snakes, bear, mountain lion, coyotes and wild dogs... and we used to have feral cats...

I just got the box packed to mail to Tom. I'm uploading the photos right now. I didn't get around to making those cookies yet, but I have more stuff to send him anyway so I'll send another package next week or so. Soon as this upload is complete I'll post the photos.
OH! Good morning!
