The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

In searching for the Mariah Carey golf article, I came accross a much cooler one on her from about 6 months ago, on which you guys were posting.

Thanks, Ruthy. She is just an outgoing and enthusiastic kid, school has always been fun for her, as a little kid, the smiley face was practically her logo.
I hope life can allow her happiness to continue.

I'm gonna guess Faith Hill; Yeah, I think it's more Faith than Brittney...not sure though.

Sheesh! Jr. just called and said "It's raining. Is the pool open?"
Which one of us is 15 miles away and which one of us is just around the corner?....sigh...

Ok. Now I'm freaked out. Just got back from my job search at Sams. Had a message from Jill on the answering machine that just said she would call back later. But, I tried to call her house and there was some German recording that of course I couldn't understand. So, I don't know if her phone is out or what. Because I can't understand anything except "gutentag."

My friend who is a probation officer just arrested someone at her office that had a puppy in the car.
Girlfriend they called doesn't want to take it.
To: Wneighbor
I'm sure if there was something wrong, she would have said so on the machine. Did you leave a message anyway?

Have you called her before? Maybe you just got a wrong number...that would give you a "German recording".
To: HairOfTheDog
Girlfriend they called doesn't want to take it.Heh...gonna have company?

Just got a letter from my daughter's university, she's on the Dean's list for the third semester in a row. Don't know where she gets this from, not me, for sure. WOW Sam!!! That's great!!! Give her a big ol' hug from us here too!

Are you worried? - Did she sound stressed out? - Or just "I'll call you back?"

My friend who is a probation officer just arrested someone at her office that had a puppy in the car. A foster puppy? We want pics.
(I once rescued a four week old kitten whose mama had been killed by a car. We named him "Foster.")

I have to go do some errands anyway, so I told her I would stop by her office and see it. Her supervisor thinks they probably have to do something official like take it to the pound, but he wants Sonya to do it.
She said it is cute and no more than 10 weeks old. I told her that a little puppy is pretty safe to take to the pound.... It'll get adopted if it isn't sick.
Anyhow, see you in a bit.
To: HairOfTheDog
Can you take pictures?
To: HairOfTheDog
The pound? But, but, but....it'll be exposed to diseases and oh so scared there! You should bring it home.
I'm soooo bad!
