The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It WAS Tom Cruise :-)

No....but what can they do really? Well I guess if it's something serious they can give me antibiotics, but I'd rather not go in if I don't have to. How long should I give it before I go see a doc?
To: Dawntreader
Celestial Seasonings had a tea called Throat Soothers and another one called Echinacea Cold Season. I drink the heck out of those 2 at the first sign of a cold. The Throat Soothers does soothe those kind of coughs. I use my teapot and put one bag of each tea in the pot, sweeten it with honey and add lemon.
Also, WalMart has these cough drops called Fisherman's Friend. They work. Tast terrible, lots of spicy licorice flavor but that's the herb that works good for this.

Well, they can give you better cough medicine than you can get over the counter. And yes, they could give you antibiotics, if they think you need it. My doc even gave me an inhaler that helped wonderfully!
So that's my tip! ;-)
To: 2Jedismom
Nope, I'm not getting chickens because I don't want to have them keep me at home when I want to go. And I have terrible neighbors who wouldn't let that happen. They already complained about my yard.

Yep, there is lots of us in Texas! But, I'm thinking Florida may have more HHDs. We're pretty neck and neck on it aren't we?

Ok...DayQuil just isn't doing anything so point taken! I just cleared it with my boss and am leaving for Urgent Care right now. Ooo I hope they give me something!
To: Wneighbor; RMDupree; All
Let's see....
Florida:
1) RMDupree
2) Sam Cree
3) Lucius Cornelius Sulla
4) ksen
Texas:
1) Bear_in_RoseBear
2) Rose in RoseBear
3) WNeighbor
So that's 4 for Florida and 3 for Texas. Pipe up if I missed you and you're from FL or TX!

I knew, and think Ruty does too, that g'nad has a relative nearby, a sister? In the north part of the county somewhere, I think.

Do you eat goat? They were talking about that on the Texas thread the other day. Alot of the island people that live in Miami like it, but I haven't tried any yet.

I've tasted it curried, since my best friend is from Trinidad. It was pretty good, although blindfolded, I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from other meats. :)
I don't have the stomach for slaughter, so any goat I get would be a milk goat. Now, the chickens are another story. The hard part would be making sure Becky didn't get emotionally attached to any of them.

To: RMDupree; Wneighbor; RosieCotton
So that makes the final count 5 for Texas and 4 for Florida. Congratulations, the Texans have it!
