Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

The one mob flick I actually watched, completely captivated was
Goodfellas.
I guess since it is based on the real life story of Ray Liotta's character, I just couldn't believe what goes on in the underbelly of the world. *shudder*
Lots of cussing and violence in that movie. But Joe Pesci's character was fabulous and unforgettable!

Hmm..I've never seen
Goodfellas. What I did have the misfortune of seeing was
Casino. That cornfield scene stayed with me for weeks. I can't handle stuff like that. It was just horrible.
Part of why I was curious is that the guy that Joe Pesci's character is based on (although they changed the name for some reason), my uncle (when he was in the FBI) helped bring him down.

Lisa is one of my favorite homeschooling moms. She never makes me feel uncomfortable. She's always "ready for anything"! I look forward to helping her with the incubating.
To: Dawntreader
Goodfellas is tough to watch due to the violence, but it is a good movie.
That's cool about your uncle!

great pictures. I wandered what Becky and her horses looked like:') I've seen you and the two JEs. Looks like yall had a good time. Wish there were freepers closer to me.
To: 2Jedismom
She seemed like a very nice lady.
Of course the sun is shining beautifully now.
BTW, another chick has hatched.. 3eggs to go. I will probably leave the incubator plugged in for another day to be sure the duds are duds. I think they probably are, because the last time I candled them I thought for sure 3 of them were not growing.

So when do we get to see some pictures of you. Everyone on NES has posted some. If you can't do it get angelo to help. He helped most of us do it. He has pictures of all of us saved.
Becky
Have a nice evening everyone!
I'm off early to get a jump on traffic!
My boss is great, isn't he?

LOL! I have no idea! I would think Matrix too due to the sunglasses, but why they wouldn't make him Agent Smith is beyond me. Maybe it's people famous over there?

One last comment on the chicken hatching that I have discovered. I just checked on them and picked up the 3 eggs that are still pipping and could hear the chick pecking. I picked up the other eggs, and you know, they all felt cold. Even though they are in the incubator they were not nearly as warm to the touch as the one's with live chicks in them. I would say there is no hope that they will hatch, which I didn't think so anyway. But that info might tell me about which egss will hatch and which won't in later batches.

That is an interesting observation. It sounds to me like they are duds.

I hate it when jokes are over my head!

Ah, the reservation software is down at work, so I get a few minutes free. Woohoo!
Got the website moved to its new web host over the weekend, and I'll be setting up the mailing list in the next couple of days.
So have I missed anything important around here? (Besides the triple-precious)

Beats the heck out of me... I think it's a Matrix reference, because of the glasses... just a very poor one.

("Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is; you have to see it for yourself.")
To: HairOfTheDog
I think it is supposed to be Keannu and Carrie-Ann Moss from the Matrix. Not very good, though, in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the nice pics, it's very nice, once in awhile, to see an image of some of us. I think it's cool that you guys are actually hatching your pets, in spite of my remarks about chx.
Becky, did you know that "The Hobbit" was written for children, even though everyone enjoys it, while LOTR was meant for adults, even though (older) children love it?
