Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Heh, went and looked at the clip... didn't realize when it changed to the game footage, my first thought was "Gee, Gandalf got awfully spry all of a sudden!"

Uh oh.... I slammed people who paint things eggshell on that thread! HA!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I guess that is a compliment to the game people!

I know! I love that show!
It's great bumping into Hole Dwellers on the other side too. It's a nice surprise, sort of like running into an old friend at the supermarket. :)

We're leaving our condo 'candlewax' because it'll be rented out, but the new house...oh wow: dining room will be deep red, living room will be dark sage, kitchen will be a paler sage, family room will be a Laurie color: Angelique, a peachier version of our candlewax. The study is up in the air 'cuz it's Big'ol's room...but he picked out green carpet. ;) We love color!
(Second floor isn't planned yet but considering how long it'll take to build the house, I have plenty of time.)

I love that show! I like TS, but I love the Brit version "Changing Rooms". One of their designers is so deliciously flamboyant: Lawrence Llewellan-Bower. I adore him and most of the others. Besides the Brits are so cute with their accents. The handyman, Handy Andy, is toooooo adorable.

Handy Andy:

Lawrence:
He has many waistcoats like that with frilly shirts. One jacket was a floral chintz....that happened to match the linens in one of the rooms he designed....

Wow, sounds like a cool California trip. A Yacht!! I like that!

Speaking of deliciously flamboyent, I watched a repeat of Ian McKellan's SNL guest host appearance the other night. Geesh! Sir Ian had to make at least 5 references to his "open gayness".
By the 2nd gay comment, I was saying "OK, OK - I get it! You're gay! Flaming! Twitterpated! Flitty! ENOUGH!"
LOL! I love his style, but he gets a bit tiring with the constant reminders.

I liked Tom Cruise when his butt was being run into the wall in Days of Thunder That was the first movie I ever saw him in. I liked it. I thought I liked him. And then I saw that stupid one where him and Nicole are in Ireland and come here and it was garbage and I decided I didn't like him anymore.

His mannerism irk me.I'm soooo judgemental at times, I know!
To: Wneighbor
Hehehehe...I didn't really watch all of Days of Thunder, just the racing scenes. They filmed some of it at the Daytona 500.
To: RMDupree
He threw one of those reminders in the cast commentary on FOTR. I could have done without it.
To: RosieCotton
I just liked him in Days of Thunder. But, he wussed out - I wouldn't have blown a motor in fear! Give me one of them things - let me out there.
Honestly, I can't remember any of his other movies - except that Ireland one, and I can't remember the name of it.
Another movie that made me like an actor that I don't normally like is Gone In 60 Seconds. I don't like Nic Cage. But I liked him in that.
Are you seeing a trend here?

I'm home and loading the pictures...we saw a tarantula on the road on the way home and stopped and got out to look at it. Some kids in a house nearby ran out with a bucket and caught it, and we got to stand and look at it for a while.
I checked out that fishing spot on the way home too...

They filmed some of it at the Daytona 500. Yep, some of those scenes were real. They did a special on the filming of it that showed during racing season that year. Like during a rain out or something. I hadn't heard of the movie (because I normally just didn't go to movies) but, I made it a point to see that one. The story was stupid. And he was in a crash and got freaked out and blew his engine next time out because he got scared. I think the part that I liked the best was that Robert Duvall was in it. I like Robert Duvall a lot. A lot better than Tom Cruise.
Of course notice that Robert Duvall was also in Gone in 60 Seconds. He has good taste in flicks to be in.

I like tarantulas. I like to keep them for pets. They are extremely cool and feel really neat if they don't bite.
Also, sometimes they are able to keep undesireables out of your office.
