Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

We only buy those disposable ones. It happens when your kids grow up. You know though with a grandbaby on the way, I may have to invest in a good one again. Since I'm not a photgraphic snob, my film cameras are now "colectibles" (dust catchers), and I have gone digital. Considering the cost of film and processing today, digital starts paying for itself quickly. The quality is nowhere near that of a good film camera, but I'm nowhere near that good of a photographer, anyway.
There are real cheapie digitals for under $100, but they leave much to be desired, especially for the long haul. A just-discontinued mid-grade model (new models come along all the time) in the $200 range would do quite nicely.

Man, my internal spell-checker is really off. "Collectible" and "photographic".

More pictures...
We've really been taking them outside a lot, letting them rummage around in the grass. They love it and if we move, they'll slowly make their way over to us. Roy eats right out of Matthew's hand. After a while, we bring them back in, put them in the box and they sleep soundly!
Here is a picture of Joshua with Jar Jar, perching on a limb.
Here is a picture of both jedis sitting with their chickens...
Here is a picture of Joshua loving on Roy...
Here is Jar Jar sleeping in the sun! She literally just laid down and zonked out! This narcoleptic behavior just cracks me up!

Whoa... High-speed Internet
ROCKS!

How do you post a comment without replying to something??
To: 2Jedismom
Leave the "To:" field blank.
Let's see...
To: Overtaxed
Well, I'll say! Never noticed that it doesn't reply to something before.
Live and learn!

It's raining again. I put in a few more tomoatoes and a pepper, planted more beans(sorry welfare deer ate some), planted sunflowers and field peas (for the deer). I'm way behind on the garden so I'm afraid my Frodo in the garden pictures are going to be Frodo with a bunch of dirt. Guess I could always use the neighbor's garden. :)

To: 2Jedismom
So are the Jedi's chickens good eatin' chickens?
To: 2Jedismom
Well, those chicks do look like the are a lot of fun for the boys! Will be interesting to see how how they grow up!
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain

To: HairOfTheDog

I don't know! Not sure what they are! We think Jar Jar, the one with white on it, is a
Black Australorp and is supposedly good eatin'. (We'll find out if it ends up being a rooster!)
We aren't sure what the black one is...
To: 2Jedismom
Think JarJar will be ready by Thanksgiving?
To: Overtaxed
If he's a rooster, he will be!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
You can set your pages to 250 now too if you like....
