The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I bash. Therefore, I am. We know, you'd never be able to get up in the mornings if you couldn't 1)bash and 2)spam. Therefore, we accept it as your call in life. LOL

I dunno 'bout that, Rosie. I've seen people turn green in certain situations. Why not Elves?

"In addition, there is a good chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis in the mid-latitudes after midnight on May 30, NOAA says. Wish I could see it. But, I'm afraid I'm just not "mid" yet. Close but not there.

I like Elves, just not the snooty kind like movie Elrond!
I've already said that Legolas is in a class by himself.

I'm still here! Outside with the boys, watching them swim in their pool. I'm so frustrated. I've tried to make this the best graduation possible for Myranda given the situations in my family. But, so far, this has been a murphy's law deal all together. She isn't even getting to enjoy her friends these last 3 days because of the company that came up from Waco. I feel so bad for her.

Heh. Over in the religion wars I used to tell the Calvinists that if they really believed their theology they had to believe that God created me an Arminian...

You.

Grrrrr...I feel for ya, sis. And I forgot to add in that (I was trying to be succinct like ScottFTLC) it was supposed to be my aunt and uncle with their son, his wife and their 2 kids. This cousin is who Myranda calls her big brother. He is the same age as my older daughter so they all 3 kind of grew up together.
So, on the phone call I found out that cousin (big brother) and family aren't coming at all. If anyone comes it will only be my aunt and uncle. My aunt doesn't want to come because it's too hot and she doesn't feel good.

Yes, I like the box very much. I am going to make the cookies in a little bit after I've caught up here and everybody takes their leave to go home for the day in a few minutes. Then, I'll fill in the box with them.

I like Elves, just not the snooty kind like movie Elrond! Elrond, was skewed and twisted by PJ. I think PJ had elf-power-envy and had to ruin the character.

You'd think about 45 degrees, since latitude goes from 0 at the equator to 90 at the poles. Here in Miami, latitude is 25 N, I forgot what it is in central VA. Do you know?

Myranda has the most important person in the world going to the ceremony tomorrow, WN. You. I just got through telling her that if we'd have known it was going to turn out like this I'd have paid her $100 to skip the ceremony.
She said, "REALLY? Is that still an option?"
I told her no because I had to pay $30 for the clown gown. She said, "I'd take $70!"
I have never participated in my own graduation ceremonies after high school or 2 AA degrees. That kind of stuff just doesn't do anything good for me. The only reason Myranda was doing it was because it was important to my Grama. And now, Grama can't be here.
BUT, Grama will get a photo. A LARGE photo. She is blind but can see some things sometimes. NO ONE else is getting any photos!

Personally, I don't think it was PJ at all.
Based on what I've read and heard, Hugo Weaving was a last minute choice for Elrond and he was the one who did the character wrong.

Grrr.....
We got everything all worked out for Jr. and now he's having a bit of a meltdown. Doesn't want to play baseball, just wants to hang out with his friends...
Thing that really pi$$e$ me off is that we were reluctant to sign him up for baseball because of his grades. But we thought he needed it for his self esteem. It would make our lives a lot easier if he wasn't playing. But he can't quit mid-season. Especially not now.
