The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think it is interesting and signficant that there were no pictures of Bill if other prominant Dems that he likely did not meet are there.

You should ask him about the pics! Ask him "Where's Bill?" :~D

Overcast and about 60° here...just about perfect!

Of course, the warmer weather means my grass is becoming a jungle. *sigh*

Yes, exactly!

I could quote the scene from memory, but that would be excessively geeky of me, wouldn't it?

Hmm, guess I need to work on that, especially after last night...

I don't know if I want to start a discussion with him! But I'm curious, just the same!

Here in the rainy northwest, it is 60 degrees after a mild night, and will be a mostly sunny day today in the seventies. Humidity 63%

Maybe I was being overly cynical... but I just can't imagine why he wouldn't have any pictures of Bill! I mean, Bill never ever never did anything wrong, did he? Wasn't all that unpleasantness just the work of the evil vast right wing conspiracy? < /sarcasm >

Its muggy, hot, sticky and all-around disgusting here in Miami this morning

Sort of the same here this morning. It's been rainy and chilly (low 50's) all weekend. The drizzle kept on coming this morning, but it's warmed up some, so now it's just muggy and gross. "Heavy air", you know? I LOVED the Mordorland update to Flat Frodo's Adventures. Great, great stuff! Jess had her appointment with the Neurologist yesterday, and was put on "Topamax" for her migraines. Has anyone here had experience with this medication before? I haven't heard of it, except that in larger doses, it's used to combat seizures. Anyway, she goes in for an MRI next Tuesday to see if the cause is anything internal, and since she is slightly claustrophobic, I'm having her "train" by laying under the bed for an hour each day. LOL I took Autumn to work with me for a half-day last Friday, and also had a nice 4-day weekend at home with not a lot of running around to do. Lots of good quality family time this weekend. This morning, Autumn starts crying when I leave for work, sobbing and sniffling, saying "Why can't I come to work with you, Daddy? I wanna go like we did before! Wanna go with YOU!" and on and on. After a tearful parting, Jess sends me an e-mail once I get to work, telling me that Autumn cried for another 45 minutes after I left, saying "Daddy forgot to take me with him! Daddy forgot me! Come baaaaaaaack!" then, curled up on the couch with my pajama t-shirt and went to sleep, sniffling the whole time. Crushing...absolutely crushing stuff. :-( It's a loooooong way until quittin time.

We'll keep Jess in our prayers.

And yes, it is a long way until quittin' time...

Oh man! Becky does that to me every now and again and it breaks my heart! Every morning, I have to blow kisses into my palm and hand them to her, telling her to use the kisses throughout the day. She tucks them into her shirt for safe keeping! :)

As far as Jess, I have no idea on the meds, but I do know that there are some facilities with "open MRIs". As te neurologist if he knows of any locally. It's far better, from what I've heard.

OK, I've just decided, if/when Rose and I have kids, I'm not ever going to leave the house again. Unless I take them with me.

Hope everything goes well with the MRI!

We checked into the open MRI's, and the closest hospital that has one is an hour away...so that's pretty much out of the question.

The good thing is, Autumn's at the age now where she likes talking on the phone, so we get to "chat" usually every day after her lunch and before nap time.

Her nap time...not mine. lol

LOL...no kidding.

"Daddy forgot meeee!" - That's been boring into my brain all day, making me feel incredibly guilty.

I think I'll buy her a pony on the way home. LMAO
