The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, my main goal is to get these things out of my den. So, anything is better than nothing. I didn't pay for any of this so it's not like I have an investment here.

Uh oh, don't make me post a quiz asking for definitions of Sabellianism and the Traducian theory. ;^)

Hello!

I'm checking in too...didn't catch any fish today. The boys caught a couple of perch.

I'm consoling myself with an egg cream.

Hullo all. Just checking in.

Busy day here opening the pool, even though it was overcast all day. Supposed to be sunny tomorrow...I'll believe it when I see it.

Wife and little one are at a family reunion. Jr. and I stayed because I had to be at the pool and he's got rehearsals all weekend.

Just got back from seeing X2. This one I liked, much more than the first.

I see ksen is back and misbehaving. Must not have learned much at seminary...

Going back to catch up now.

I have admitted that smokes were the hardest habit I ever broke.

For the record the pipeweed comment was just to keep me out of the kitchen...I don't smoke. I could probably be convinced to have a good cigar. But not with Jr. there.

Do you use cilantro?

I'm growing cilantro. Do we have to use it fresh or can we dry it or preserve it?

You can dry it and preserve it, but it's much better fresh. All I do is chop up onions, fresh tomatoes, peppers (I use chili petins, but you can use jalepenos), cilantro... add garlic and salt to taste and serve it up with chips.

Mmmmm!!!!

I wouldn't trash that stuff. And don't take it out of the wrapper. You could go on eBay and see what it's going for. Probably not much, but you could find a buyer.

Jr. inherited a truckload (well it seems like it) of NASCAR memorabilia from his uncle. We have it stored away, but it's in the several thousands of dollars worth of stuff.

But it loses it's value if it's taken out of the packaging.

I'm so glad! 300winmag too.

Our next set of packages are set to go out just as soon as I get the letter with Suzi's church bulletin. I'm going tomorrow to get the "final touches" as far as treats and such. Looks like it's going to be 5 packages...
