Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Could be, but Eru never physically inhabited Middle-Earth itself so it seems unlikely that Tom is either Eru Iluvatar itself or some decendant. Tom is mentioned by Glorfindel at the Council of Elrond. "Last as he was First" and all that.
And yet, one must wonder where you have been all this time and why in heaven's name you haven't visited us before!

Now that Ruthie mentions it, that pic could be Photoshopped... I see some bluriness where there shouldn't be bluriness.

Truth be told, I didn't really know y'all were here. :^) Oh No! Well, we're glad you found us.
There was one of the Daily Tolkien articles that put forth some speculation about Bombadil actually being Aule. I found this suggestion repulsive at first. And then, the most I pondered and studied on it the more possible it seemed. Not saying I have decided to concur with that opinion for sure yet, but it has it's merits. The Maia was my original view. So, I'm still teetering between "only" a Maia and Aule.
