Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah - I am gonna watch fellowship.
Maybe just the beginning.... I need to renew my Frodo vows.
Although, Frodo being practical, probably finds this Legolas crush of mine to be somewhat amusing also.
The Matrix has me.....

I think I am gonna go have to watch a movie and settle down. Good idea. Movies can make you settle very nicely.

Can you believe it? There are NINE people chatting in that chicken forum! Live chat!
That amazes even me.

To: HairOfTheDog
Eeek! You got the triple six!
I can't believe that there are nine people in there chatting about chickens! I noticed it the other day too and I went in to find out what they could possibly be talking about and they were just going on and on about chickens, I kid you not.

"End of the Year" homeschool banquet tomorrow. I have to go at 10am to help decorate, so I better get spiffed up and in bed.
Joshua and Matthew both managed to keep everything down today. This evening we fed them rice and small flakes of bland pork chop with their broth and they tolerated it well. Then a couple of hours later we fed them some more of the same. They are back in their own beds now (I had them in with me last night so I could monitor them...I swear I got 5 minutes of sleep last night and that is all..I was so afraid they'd barf in my bed!)
So, I'm hoping they are over it and can attend the banquet...I'm wore out.
Good night!

Oh, hi...
You can have your Matrix!
Seriesly, did you like it?
Yes, liked it lots. Watched it, discussed it with Rose, came home and watched the DVD of the first movie to check some references made in the second. I'm somewhat amazed at how well the second movie tracked from the first. No continuity errors or plot holes that I could spot. Rose and I need to go back and see it again... there was a lot of depth and things going on, too much to be absorbed in one viewing.
Wow.

What is it parents these days have against manners?
I had a similar thing happen in church a few weeks ago. I may have told the story here. I was sitting in the balcony in front of where the middle schoolers usually sit. Jr. wasn't there that Sunday. But during the entire praise & worship time, they were carrying on audidble conversations. Granted, because of the acoustics, you couldn't hear them too far away, but I was right in front of them.
I just turned around, looked 'em in the eye and said "If you have to have a conversation, take it outside. This is not the place." They quieted down. I heard some whispers later on, but nothing like it had been.

Hullo Corin! I am just off to the couch... Gandalf just showed up and Bilbo is acting a bit odd lately. .... He's up to something.
I better go pay attention!
I will say hello and 'so long' in the morning with my coffee!

I'm having deep thoughts about the nature of consciousness, free will, and stuff.
