The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah, cool map.
I personally think MapQuest sucks. They make enough mistakes that you have to double check them every time, so you might as well save the time and do it yourself the first time, and know you got it right.

I think mapquest is good for calculating distances and travel time, but not for actual directions.
It's better to find someone local to give you the skinny on the best way to get somewhere.

Yes, or get a paper map. Around a place like Miami, though, it's good to have enough local knowledge to be able to avoid dangerous neighborhoods.

I like the intellicast radar loop. Just checked it and it looks like we could get the very edge of some heavy rain. That would be alright by me, although I really need to be out on the horse, competition in 2 wks, but my yard and pasture is already burning up.

The thread is dead. No, it wasn't. I was just following the Texas dem thing. I am so mad I could spit. If I thought I could make a dadgummed bit of difference I'd get in my pickup right now and drive up to Ardmore and give those guys what-for!!! How dare they! This is not kindergarten where they just take their ball and go home because they don't like it that they aren't winning the game now!!! I am just furious!!!!!! AAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!
2J, maybe I need some of your medicine!!! </rant

We sure do. I mowed yesterday (with my brand new riding lawn mower, that I got as a surprise last week:), and I noticed how bad the clover was already wilting away:(. I had decided this year not to water the yard, only the flowers, because mowing had become a 3 day event that put me down for 5 days, it's he!! getting old. I mowed the whole yard yesterday in about 1 1/2 hours. Our yard is probably about an acre.

Well, the representative where I vote (at the old place) is repub. So, I don't even have the ability to call those other people and say I'll campaign against 'em. But, I noticed that the one in my new town is out of state!!! GRRRR......... One more reason to like this place less. They need to be horsewhipped!!!
To: RMDupree
P.S. Just because I don't vote in their districts doesn't mean I haven't made not of names so I can throw these out come election time.
To: Wneighbor
Sad thing is...they'd probably like it!

Could you do a minimum of packing/storing and get an efficiency apartment in KC to check things out for a month or so? I guess so....at any rate, I was planning on renting for at least a year.

The storm looks like it's getting closer, so I'm logging off the computer. I'll talk to you all later!

Well, I'd like it.
At least I calmed down because somebody posted the DHMO article again. So, I had a chuckle. Blood pressure should be down now.
To: RMDupree
Sad thing is...they'd probably like it! Well, I can tell you - I'm not normally inclined toward that kind of thing. But, right now, I'd gladly wield that whip!!! And it would not get any easier as the number progressed!
To: Overtaxed
Well, only you can make the right decision obviously but I think the storage, rent for a year thing is a fair plan. Is there no storage space at "The House?" Or is there no room to add a storage shed? That could be something possibly.
To: Wneighbor
Is there no storage space at "The House?" Hehehe...no.... "The House" needs cleaning out too!
