The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It's not binding or anything....if I find something here before Sept 1, or if I don't have...ahem...the means to prolong the house selling enterprise after I leave, I can always quit. LOL - You and I are even on the same timetable. I don't get a new contract here at the school until Sept. 1. I have the letter guaranteeing me a contract, but don't get it till then. So, I figure all jobs are fair game between now and then.

isn't somebody having a birthday then? Sorry, our server went down just as I was trying to respond.
I believe it would be rude of us not to celebrate Bilbo's birthday...(yes I know his birthday isn't in January...)

I can't find any scholarships I qualify for because I don't have "leadership" capability.
Which means, I don't volunteer up to 20 hours a week.
I can't... how am I going to fit in 20 hours of volunteer work between working full time, going to school full time, studying arabic on the side, and studying period.
It shouldn't be this expensive to go to school in the first place...
AAACCCKKK!!!! Sometimes, I get so discouraged.

You are responsible for bringing spam wars back to the thread.

(now give me a minute to catch up on posts...) Well, since you're catching up I'm gonna dwarf-bash. I was reading through posts and came to this -
My head has never been connected to my back or my neck... this explains all the stupid and costly mistakes I have made in my life.
Gee, I thought that had to be Corin... but it wasn't, it was Carton.

I'd think the ice would make you feel stiffer? I've got to have heat just to loosen the muscles back there before they stiffen up. *shudder*
Bootsman loves you and has compassion towards the "lesser human species". *grin*
My sister's kitten, Sharpie, is a demon and attacks me (playing) every time I go over to her house. WHY???!!
I already know why. It's because I am allergic to her and cats sense that. They always go for the person that needs them around the least. LOL!

Many, many costly and stupid mistakes... the 30's were a wasted decade... wish I could have those 10 years back... the things I would change...

Good morning Ruthie! I trust you had a nice weekend? Yup...shooore did! I went swimming for a bit yesterday and discovered how pathetically out of shape I am! My calves are aching today from a half hour's exercise! So sad! LOL!
I am hoping to take my mom out tonight since neither of us wanted to fight the crowds yesterday.

To all these scholarships that is what the definition is.
I don't know how I'm ever going to finish this education.

My problem is with "swelling." A certain muscle swells, pushing against the nerve, which impacts the nerve causing severe pain.
When the swelling comes down everything is better.
That's why I lay on ice.

I'd think the ice would make you feel stiffer? I've got to have heat just to loosen the muscles back there before they stiffen up. *shudder* Ice reduces swelling. So, depending on the injury or overexertion you may need either ice or heat. I switch back and forth. (can't make up my mind about much of anything else either.)
Well, it's almost 10. I'm fixing to head over to the Home Depot and try to sell my services.

Saturday, I learned the 5 senses... Ha! I don't know why that made me think of this. They say it every Sunday in church. But they ask visitors to fill out a card and drop it off at one of the Welcome Centers at either end of the concourse (we're a big church).
But yesterday I turned to my wife and asked "Why do we have Welcome Sinners?"
Sorry about the back pain Smeagol. I understand. I have trouble with sciatica, specially if I have to stand for along time.
However, I am NOT sorry about snaiging the precious...

Many, many costly and stupid mistakes... the 30's were a wasted decade... wish I could have those 10 years back... the things I would change... for some reason all my costly mistakes centered around male people that i thought were fun at the time.
