The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

2J, I went to my bed finally at 3:30 this morning. Girl, I dreamed about ya'll.You know, I actually thought about the Hobbit Hole when I was getting the boys ready...getting them dressed. I put their red shoes on them and thought "Well, if I get in some national picture and the guys in the Hobbit Hole see me with my kids in their red Chuck Taylors, they'll know it's me!"

We got to see Paul have his name called, cross the stage and get his honor cord. Sounds like a lovely time! Did you cry? I cried in church the other day when Matthew got his award for finishing memorizing all 11 hymns for choir!

What is a good age to leave kids alone at home briefly? I wonder if I could leave Matthew at home while I take Joshua to preschool this fall? He'll be 8 years old by then and it would only be for about an hour at the most.

Steve jumped up and reminded me for all the world of Sam and the Watcher in the water as he hacked away at the snake with our little pan fish with a stick! It was funny, a tug-of-war with the snake! Now, that would have been a priceless video!

I started leaving Jill at about that age because there was a neighbor 4 houses down who was home that she could call if she needed anything - or got scared.
To: Wneighbor
Oh it was absolutely hysterical, except I was so stunned at first! The snake swam up within a couple of feet of Joshua's feet. I jerked Josh up and over the back of his lawnchair!

Good Morning!
I don't know what wire grass is.
Have you got your written offer yet?
To: 2Jedismom
My neighbor would always say, "Well you can just bring her down." But, the point was, I would run to town, (10 minutes away) and she would want to stay home and I wanted her to learn a little independance and become confident in being able to call for help if she needed it.
To: 2Jedismom
Oh, hey, remember we gotta be praying for Mrs. G'nad today. They're inducing.
To: Wneighbor; g'nad
Oh that's right! Prayering for you and the missus, g'nad!

Did you ever get my Entmoot check?Yes. I got it Friday. I think I posted to you when I got it but there you were on the lookout for tornadoes. I'm glad you guys made it through all that ok.
How did the fix-it job Steve did on the side of the house fare?

I suppose if you can trust Matthew not to get into the knife drawer or use the stove while you're gone, it's probably ok, especially since your Mom lives right down the road.

The house is all done on the outside...it's painted white though...which doesn't bother me. Nobody cares in this neighborhood...the people down the street have a lime green couch under their tree.
I could let Matthew play his computer games the whole time I was gone and he wouldn't budge.
