Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

and about everything else. Hair, I'm really not pretending to be Corin today.

WN,OT & JM: hey y'all, just checking in, pretty good line of super-cells from Omaha to Ok City, should hit here in a bit. Had a heck of a hail storm west side of KC, over in Johnson County KS. Tennis ball sized hail, weather spotter had his window shield knocked out as well as a bunch of others. Otherwise the usual pea-nickel sized. This morning the area around Topeka had to break out the snow plows to move the accumulated hail. Rain was at 3.5 inches per hour but only lasted 30 minutes at our house. Emptied the collected rainwater in jugs for house plants.

CS: cool looking ax; you make it? Looks like two pieces of wood, I'm sure g'nad would give a better critique.
To: osagebowman
Glad you're all well. Now that I know you are actually right at KC I have really been watching this week.
To: ksen; Ramius
Ksen, Ramius is going to mail a check to you tomorrow for $100 for both of us! - Ramius, don't forget!
WNeighbor, thanks for your offer. You are a really kind person!
ksen.... sorry to delay so long. My bank said they just mailed the checks yesterday, so they may arrive tomorrow or the next day, but I don't want to put us off any longer!

Bay worked beautifully today! I think he is feeling better every day, and I am much relieved!
He even jumped pretty today! Look how tucked and tidy he jumped!

That is.... when he jumped.... sometimes he did this instead.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh Nope.
Nope. Not doin' it.
And this was funny.... This is the pony disrupting the workout, about 3 seconds before she clotheslined herself on the lunge line and caused a big wreck. I had to drop the line she got so tangled in it. Bay just stopped and stood there.
To: HairOfTheDog
That is beautiful! Absolutely lovely. They are definitely good friends to treasure. I can picture the clothesline scene. LOL
To: Wneighbor
Yes, I wished I could have captured the clothesline scene on film, but I had my hands full!
To: SuziQ; Wneighbor
Isnt' it wonderful to have something that reminds us of home from so far away? I've planted a Morning Glory by the front porch for that very reason. And my wife's aunt will give me a start from her grape vine as soon as I get an arbor built...which of course will be a while...
To: Wneighbor
I thought you liked ballet Corin!
"I like to watch..."
To: Wneighbor
Sorry, we went to eat after the concert. I'm exhausted and am heading to bed in just a minute.
We have X-Men coming from NetFlix Saturday, so we'll be watching that Saturday night. I told Jr. I wanted to see that before X-Men 2.
To: Wneighbor; HairOfTheDog
Hair, I'm really not pretending to be Corin today. Excuse me?
To: osagebowman
CS: cool looking ax; you make it? 'fraid not.
To: Corin Stormhands
Reverend Mother, I have funkled...
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, I wished I could have captured the clothesline scene on film, but I had my hands full! I'll bet. What I want to know is whether you got through the untangling without laughing or if incessant laughter hindered the process?
To: Corin Stormhands
"I like to watch..." Watch what?........
To: HairOfTheDog
He even jumped pretty today! Look how tucked and tidy he jumped! You know, of course, that if you never posted pictures of the goofs, we would never have known any better. It shows you are exceptionally honest, and therefore not fit to be a fisherman, or democRAT. :)
To: Wneighbor
Did you see the movie Being There? There's an hysterical scene where Shirly Maclaine is trying to seduce Chauncey the Gardner. He says "I like to watch" meaning television...she thinks he means something else...
To: Corin Stormhands
"I like to watch..." My post looks like yours when they are multiples of the same thing......
