The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Congrats in getting in that dress. I haven't really had that happen. Most of my weight has come off my thighs. So, my waist and midriff have yet to be affected. I'm hoping the next 10 pounds will have the desired effect.

You know... it's a big deal. It's a flipping big deal. I know how hard you are working... and you are to be congratulated. How much have you lost so far?

Well, I hit the 15 mark this weekend- the goal is about 20. But honestly the issue wasn't the pounds it was the closet full of clothes that didn't fit. Being a frugal gal, I just couldn't justify spending money to buy a new wardrobe because of my laziness. The problem is nearly solved.
... The trouble is, Big'ol lost so much he needs new clothes! Teeheheee
To: Lil'freeper
I have a closet like that... so that is part of the reason why I am losing. The other is my health. It's not healthy to be carrying around all this extra weight. And it's not healthy to eat the way I do.
So, I'm down 22-1/2... Like I said, it seems that 11 pounds have come off each thigh.
Shrink waist and midriff, shrink.

I just couldn't justify spending money to buy a new wardrobe because of my laziness. I've strayed from the diet in the last month, but with working out I'm still shaping up. If I continue, which I hope to (including resuming the diet) I will need new pants pretty soon.
I don't have a pair of pants that will stay up without a belt.
On the other hand, Jr. grows a size just about every four hours. He has a band concert tonite. We're okay on the black pants, tie and shoes. But he went to try on his white shirt. I told his mom "it's a size 16, it should be fine." He wore it okay at Christmas.
It's a boys size 16. She's on the way to take him to the orthodontist, then buy a shirt.
Scary part is, based on previous history, we're several hours ahead of the band concert clothes panic...

I fought the lawn, and the lawn won...
Not sure we're happy with the yard vacuum. Either it just doesn't have enough power or I'm trying to make it do too much. I think it's the latter. Plus the leaves are pretty wet, so I think they're clogging it up.
I still have about 3 weeks left on the 30 day return policy. I'll try it again this weekend on an area where the leaves aren't as deep.

I've been there... have an event... get the "dress" out of the closet... dress doesn't fit... buy new dress on way to event.
That's what you get when you act like there's no calories in cake.

We have a wedding to go to on Saturday. Mrs. needs a new dress. She has some winter stuff that still works for more formal stuff. But her spring stuff is too big or way out of style (or both).
To: carton253
So, I'm down 22-1/2... That is not insignificant! Congrats!
To: All
Okay, I need to go. Things I have to do before the concert. May be back later tonite...

I don't have a pair of pants that will stay up without a belt. That's awesome- you were looking pretty trim in those dwarf-moot photos. Keep at it!
To: SuziQ
SuziQ and SirSuziQ, I went in and did some of those pre-qualifications. There were a couple with 5.5% interest in my area so now we'll just see. Thanks again.
of course i may be back with questions.........

Maybe ballet is Gondorian.Somehow, I don't think the Dwarves will be surprised to learn this!
Hmmmm. Now that I've been away a bit and thought about this, I'm thinking ballet may be dwarven. It's the tossing you know.
And those tights - you know they're more like excessively done panties than no panties. Like snowpants kind of.

Not sure we're happy with the yard vacuum. The thought of having to vacuum my lawn simply repulses me.
I don't vacuum my house! Much less the lawn.....
daughters vacuum house. oldest one told me that when Myranda leaves she's coming to vacuum for me for birthdays and Christmas.
To: Overtaxed
This whole deal is on my "not worth it" threshold. The thought crosses my mind frequently that since I OWN the other house, I COULD just work at Taco Bell and make ends meet.

FUNKLE RESCUE!
Actually, I have to run and just wanted to say bye to everyone for now!
