Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Orpingtons are very nice looking birds make great affectionate pets. Well, OK dear, but I have never seen an affectionate chicken.

Unofficially, Harvey Weinstein has seen a rough cut of Return of the King (he is an Executive Producer) and says that it is "unstoppable" as a Best Picture winner." WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It seems to have worked, good job Corin! I went back and read the responses. Heck I was probably too harsh, but I don't really care.
It was much nicer than the time I asked her if she ever dressed up like a FR Fifth Amendment so her husband could play polygamist...
Dr. E is acting all flustered at my comment. She's given me (or Ward) much worse.
I won't post on that thread again. Good job giving it to F16 ksen.

What about a rabbit? Those don't need much room...don't lay eggs either, but...

I just got through reading Corin's midnight battle. My head hurts now. Sorry. ;-)

Which brings me to the next question...am I nuts to think an electric weed whacker would be a pretty good thing to have? I don't think you're nuts at all. Get a good long outdoor extension cord and you'll be all set. Both my weed eater and leaf blower are electric.
They also make rechargeable weed eaters. We used to have one (it finally died after 5-6 years). It lasted about an hour before needing to recharge. That should be more than enough for you.

I'm fixin' to get dressed and go to Sam's, WalMart and the Christian store. They sell Christians in Texas??????

That should be more than enough for you. Thanks - this is exactly the sort of hands-on info I was looking for! Hair mentioned that these rechargeable might be heavy due to the battery, so I want to find one I can heft before I buy, but yeah, an hour would be more than enough. Twenty minutes would almost be more than enough. ;-)

I want something that will just run around in the back yard...I'm afraid a rabbit would breed with the wild ones and getting it fixed would be more than I want to do financially.
The neighbors down the street have a FLOCK of chickens in their back yard and that includes roosters. They crow and we love them! If there is an ordinance, they're breaking it...but we have a 6 foot privacy fence, so I'm hoping no one would even know. We live on a quarter of an acre.
I just want two. One for each boy. I'd like to raise them from eggs, but that may be more effort than I want to expend.

It's a good handy quote, isn't it! LOL Nay fair maiden. I have offended their sensibilities...
Must not tell them to bite me...must not tell them to bite me...must not...
Meeting was too long. But I got out okay.
