Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Once, at work, this is awhile ago, the guys were discussing whether Jews were a race or a religion. One of them brought up the name Sammy Davis, Jr., which sort of ended the discussion, no one thought that solved anything, but everyone was kind of temporarily stumped.

Good morning!
Awanas is over for the year, so is Children's choir at church and Steve's school is over with. WHEW what a last few months!
I got the paperwork for Joshua to sign him up for Preschool starting in Sept. I did it with Matthew before starting homeschooling him and he really loved it. He made friends that he still has today...several of them are homeschooled too.

Just got an email from the guy that I ordered the books from. He said the books were sent yesterday!
I also got an email from one of the Airborne Mom's (a yahoo group I lurk on) and she said her son said that the entire 82nd Airborne should be out of Afghanistan by the end of July.

I just got through reading Corin's midnight battle. My head hurts now.

Don't know how reliable it is...but I guess we'll see. Most of the Airborne Moms have heard that they are leaving soon...over the next couple of months.

I have another subject I could use some advice on. It's never ending, isn't it?
Sometime in the next few months I'm thinking of getting a weed whacker. I have a little non-motorized push mower, but that doesn't get the nooks and crannies, or even the hilly spots. Last year I used weed killer on some of the worst places I couldn't get to with the mower, but it killed some of my grass, too - plus it's messy and kinda scary. I hate chemicals!
Which brings me to the next question...am I nuts to think an electric weed whacker would be a pretty good thing to have? I have one electric plug on either side of the house, but I suppose it WOULD be a drag to have a cord. But the idea of having to mix gas stuff for a fuel powered one scares me. Is it possible to get stuff already mixed? Is it really hard to do and messy to deal with? How much do you have to put in the things? Do they go through a lot?

Once, at work, this is awhile ago, the guys were discussing whether Jews were a race or a religion. Isn't both a good anwer? You can either be born Jewish by race, or you can choose the Jewish religion. Unique huh?

I forgot, I dropped some mail into the outgoing for you yesterday. It's only a letter and 3 things a guy I used to work with sent me. I had a couple of cards and Myranda had written another letter and I've misplaced them. I will send them when I find them.
nobody else loses things in their own clutters house do they???
To: Wneighbor
That means they'll be gone before TTT comes out on DVD. I imagine the Renegade Chaplain will give me another address to send to for the next group, so we can at least get the guys that are there next the TTT. I don't know if we'll want to continue on sending care packages as a Hole...whatever everyone else wants.

Which brings me to the next question...am I nuts to think an electric weed whacker would be a pretty good thing to have? From what you've said about the size of your yard Rosie, it sounds like an electric one might be perfect for you. If you can reach everywhere in your yard with say a 50 foot extension cord then why not? Especially if you don't like the idea of mixing gas and stuff. I have a gas one because the old place was 3/4 acre and it needed something more heavy duty. But, with that also comes a little more maintenance then the electric one. I've had both. I prefer the gas. But, only because I was doing a huge heavy duty place.

I am looking forward to the Extended Edition TTT with the Gollum figure!

Well, let's just see what God has in store. If we get good information on the next group or "a" next group then we'll do whatever's appropriate. If we don't, I imagine we'll find something else to do. You know, overall, this is a really cool ministry that's cropped up within our bunch. It's these kinds of things that really touch lives you know. Thanks.
