The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I have an idea that reality undermines statistics pretty often.

Write a note to the chaplain and/or the troops with it, not a note to me! I like ya, and enjoy hearing from you...but I want them to hear from you too!
I'll put it in with the goodies!
Time for school! See you all later!

Doesn't Fed EX have guaranteed international delivery? Or Airborne, or Emery... Yes they do, as does UPS. The problem is that they insist it will be there around 2PM, which means more than likely 3 or 4 PM. My boss is flying out to Santo Domingo at 6PM, thus he will be San Juan Airport by 4PM. He obviously needs his passport before then!
I think my best bet is to go with UPS Priority Overnight and hope they arrive at the Puerto Rico office by noon tomorrow. The receptionist there informed me that UPS does a daily delivery stop there around noonish anyway, so therein lies hope!

OK. I wish Becky was here with me today.
Maybe I'll send it tomorrow so that I can have Becky draw another picture to send with my note! :)

I think Fed Ex can do better than that. Give me your zip and the zip being sent to and let's see what I come up with.

I'm not casting dispersions on your abilities or anything... but where I work, if it weren't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done... and I have been up against the wall more times than I can count, so I have learned how to finesse Fed Ex. I'm not saying that my results will be different than yours, but I thought I would give it a whirl.

I did get a firm 2 pm from Fed Ex. Puerto Rico does not have the bottle neck at customs that most foreign countries do.
So, if UPS can get it there at noon, go with them. But, Fed Ex's 2 pm is firm.
I didn't help very much...

I am not silly enough to be offended by someone trying to help me!
Don't worry about it now though because my boss just called and said he wants it sent UPS. Wish me luck! LOL!

Do it... because the responsibility just changed from you to him. After all, he chose UPS, not you.

And we both know... let it be the boss' fault whenever and where ever possible. (Though I had a few that it was never their fault... never... ever... in a million years, no)
