Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

The moonpies I sent made it. I sent them personally because I didn't want to waste the Hole funds on something that might not make it, but it did. They are the ones that I just re-inforced with packaging tape, stuck an address label on it and shipped them in their own box...

The postal ladies said they didn't think they'd make it...I mean it was a moonpie BOX! LOL Said Moonpies all over it, had pictures of moonpies all over it! They thought for sure someone would break them open and eat them! LOL
I almost did it with the first batch I sent, but they were paid for by the Hole Dwellers and I didn't want to risk them not making it just because I thought it would be funny to send them that way.
I'm gonna do it again.
Twinkies and Ding Dongs and such won't work, the box is too flimsy.

I don't know about the little Moonpie boxes...the only ones I've ever seen are the 24pack in Sams and it's got a corregated (sp?) box...very sturdy.

Yes...I'm going shopping for the "treats" like Tang after I get the books ordered...should be tomorrow. I'm waiting for some funds that were mailed.
I imagine this next set of packages will leave here in about 2 weeks...maybe a little sooner.
