The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

He is a cutie, no doubt about it.
What ruined him for most folks was the *ahem* encounter he had with Ms. Devine.
I'm glad to see that his career is back on track. He does seem like a very likeable guy. I love a dry sense of humor like his!
Of course, now that Gimli's pic is up, I must say that I love that Dwarvish sense of humor even more! *wink*

Ever since the hooker thing I really haven't liked Hugh and try to avoid anything he is in. I am always confusing him with Matthew McConnaughey(sp).
I like Matt, but I'm not a hugh fan of Hugh. ;^)

I dunno about that, Hair.
Elizabeth Hurley, bless her jaded heart, seems like a rather spoiled princess type. [meow] I don't think any guy could take her for long periods of time and Hugh looks like the type that would avoid the scene a Hollywood breakup would cause.
Now, he is stupid...that's for sure! All that money and you're going to go to a street corner?!!!

I really don't have a hard time separating an actor's personal life from their screen life.
What he does in his personal life is his business.
About Ms. Devine... he took responsibility for it and never made excuses. I like that.
But, while he is on the screen, he has my full attention because he makes me laugh and is easy on the eyes.

HAPPY 59th BIRTHDAY JOHN RHYS-DAVIES!!It's my sister's birthday, too. She's only 17, though. ;-)
We already had a party Saturday evening, but I imagine we may do SOMETHING today, too.
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes... ever since Rhett Butler, I've been fond of cads.

The best response to that...er...incident was when Grant appeared on the Tonight Show.
He sat down. Leno looked at him and screamed, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???!?!?!?!"
To: carton253
True. He didn't blame anyone or anything (ie, terrible childhood "woe is me" tactic employed by some Hollywood losers).
I enjoy Hugh Grant's acting ability and yes..he is VERY easy on the eyes.
I still laugh when I think of his roommate in Notting Hill.

Ever since the hooker thing I really haven't liked Hugh and try to avoid anything he is in.For the most part, what people do off screen doesn't bother me too much...but Hugh Grant's usual movie persona just isn't appealing to me...that kind of awkward, stammering personality. I've liked SOME movies he was in, but, as you said, I'm not a hugh fan. ;-)

Many suspect that it was nothing more than a publicity stunt... that he did it to get caught...
Sure helped Jay Leno though. The night Hugh Grant appeared after the incident was the night he finally caught David Letterman in the ratings. Jay has never looked back.
When Jay asked Hugh, "what were you thinking..." I had to laugh at Hugh's embarressed expression. A clever quip and all was forgiven. At least by me.

Rhett had a class and style that Hugh can only dream about...
(it starts with being southern...)
