The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

In a word...yes. Although she did express a desire to put names with faces (she lurks here sometimes) before Flat Frodo came up.
To: Overtaxed; Lil'freeper
My cumudgony old dad thinks Flat Frodo is pretty clever and very funny!
Frodo is spending the afternoon in Kentucky, home of bluegrass and fine horses!

Is ecurbh going to post all the UPS tracking info on his website?
To: HairOfTheDog
Hair; crumoge, whatever, you rang? That's about my middle name for years. :-) We're back on line now, been watching the local TV for the weather. Had several tornadoes, both north and south of our area. Far western Wyandotte county through Platte and Clay counties, and northern Cass to the south of us. Kansas City KS hit, no reports of injuries yet but damage extensive in a couple of additions. All the cars in a Church parking lot were blown over or away, but the church is standing albeit its windowless now. Everyone inside basically okay. Three moving through the metro at one time was a bit exciting, but didn't stay on the ground long. Praise the Lord.

I don't know! - It might be interesting to log where he has been, even if there are no pictures! We should make a map.... I could try to do that! - Little rings where he has been!

Eeek.
We just never have life-threatening weather here! Maybe that is why folk around here don't go to church as much as the midwest.

Yeah I saw that about the tornados and thought of you. Glad to see that you made it okay.
To: Overtaxed
Sounds like the new college president would make good human shield material. Hip Hip Hooray!!! you is my frin.
To: HairOfTheDog
I am watching a movie with talking trees. That's what I did yesterday. It's comfort food whilst I had my series thoughts about what to do.
To: HairOfTheDog; Overtaxed
Does she think we are looney tunes? Beep beep... Road Runner here.
To: Overtaxed; HairOfTheDog
OT & Hair; thanks, activity is to the east of now; one reported fatality, which is hard to believe seeing kindling that were once homes; basements are a really, really good thing.
To: osagebowman
Uh oh....I don't have a basement.
To: osagebowman
Good grief!

Hair; interesting to check the two storm threads running and seeing all the old names and few new ones; most of them were from our Plaza freeps during the debacle of 2000. Good people.
OT; although 2JM is more in tornado alley than we are, we still get our share of midwestern weather events. Have to admit the doplar and all does improve the warning time over the old deputy on hilltop radioing the fire department to turn on the siren. Still, those old sirens sure got your attention. If you do end up planning to move, try to snag a place with a basement.
