Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Isn't Orlando near I-75... map quest has me going all the way through North Carolina. Why can't I just take I-75 south?
I think I'm going to fly...but I want to look at both options.

I got your letter to the chaplain mailed off. I got a nice "pre-stamped" legal sized envelope and mailed it that way...it looked very well done.

Where are you in Ohio? Is it taking you down I-77?
When I went to school in Kentucky, just south of Lexington, we went straight down I-75 to Florida.

I'd have to see the route, but maybe they're trying to get you over to connect with I-95. Seems to me like you could do I-75 south until you get to Florida, then cut over.

It's taking me the long way I think... At Knoxville, I head toward Asheville, I 40 - I 26, then take I-95 toward Savannah...
What am I doing... I have triple A... Trip Tixs!

Yeah, Orlando is near I-75, but where we'll be is off of I-95 so MapQuest may have just been getting you over to I-95.
You could get here by taking I-75 to Orlando then find a way to get on SR-528 (the Beeline) which will take you right to I-95. Then you go south on I-95 until you get to the exit in Melbourne for 192. Go east on 192 until you get to the ocean and take right onto A1A and 10 miles later you will be at "the Castle."

That does seem like the longest route. As AAA to do it both ways. That way and then through Atlanta.
