Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

We won't be flying. I'm making plans to drive there from RI (rental car).

I'm planning on two days worth of travel...I figure about 12 hours of driving each day will get us there pretty easily. That sound about right?

Still reading here and thinking about it. The castle and all. I have avoided this subject somewhat previously, because I hate to say one thing and do another. Long way off, Jan 9th. Let me think a little more on it. But, if I do go, The Castle is my choice.

Well, we should send the deposit money to ksen this week to hold it. January is their peak season.

I think we will be well on our way to getting the deposit right now if you can't commit yet, I think we would need the definite commitment by July.

We will keep track of who has paid in so far and how much, and we will have a more solid count by summer on who is actually going and how much we all owe to pull it off.

I am hedging on the amount because I think we might be at at least 11 people....

I am gonna send $50 even, and we will just keep track of who has sent what already come July.

If we get more money than is needed then I can keep track and apply the extra to the amounts that will be needed in July. So if someone sends in $55 and based on the number of people there only needed to be $45 sent in then that person would have to send in $10 less in July.
